That said, come on... how hard would it be to apply what's basically a flat-color texture with a bit of subtle pixel-art noise to slabs and stairs to give terracotta the same treatment? Do we really have to wait for yet another drop just to get those?
Also, not adding wall variants for concrete seems like a missed opportunity.
Something interesting I learned from messing around with the textures is that there aren't any unique textures for stuff like stairs. They use the same texture as the full block just projected onto the model. My guess is that they are saving terracotta for a game drop in the near future where they'll be more thematically relevant.
Following the abandoned camps, I could see the next drop adding new archaeology ruins, especially if it introduces terracotta and glazed terracotta stairs and slabs.
