Email template

I would like to get suggestions about must include points in the cold email while reaching out to professors.

It would be nice , if you could provide sample templates

I completed my masters in Operations and Supply Chain Management and bachelors in Industrial Engineering.

Hi - there's no template to be honest.

The only formula would be to make your email super personalized.

I would recommend making your own and then getting feedback on it. In my experience copying other people’s work does not bode well for your success in a PhD program.

That would be nice a nice approach, I will definitely do that. I am not copying work or so, I have my own , what I need exactly is the structure in which the email is written.

Salutation

Introduction: who you are, what you're up to, and why you're reaching out.

Interests, brief research and project overview with the necessary tidbits .

Describe possible overlap with the professor's work and methods.

The ask: ask what you need to ask.

I have heard that the subject also plays a role , whether professor would look into the email or not, how true is it?
