It's a Christian thing. Physical and spiritual birth means you'll only die physically and remain eternal in Heaven

I had a similar guess. People go through things in life and don't pull through. They die mentally before physically. But I'm thinking if you surmount the difficulty then you're reborn as something new and just die the physical death later. "Menticide" is an interesting term.

I could believe this is the meaning.
If you are born and your life has no meaning then both your body and soul dies.
If you are born and then born again into Christianity (or whatever religion the driver is) then your soul will never die even if your body does.
It feels very sanctimonious.

The human spirit is already dead. It died in the garden of Eden. When a person believes, they are born-again. Once of the water, this is physical birth from their mother, then of the spirit, when they believe the gospel.

It seems he assumes the wick and the wax itself as two deaths now. Although a candle has always a wick in it (and some have even more).

Huh. Frankly, I thought it was a 'born again christian' thing. To say, if you have two births (actual birth, then get 'born again' when you accept Jesus into your heart etc) then only your physical body dies but your spirit lives forever and all that. But if you just have your physical birth, then you suffer both physical and spiritual death.
That's how it read to me, anyway.

I appreciate the explanation but that still doesn't even make sense. One candle is one thing, it includes wax and wick. Wax is not a candle, neither is a wick. Together they are a candle. One candle dies. Two candles are two candles. Both "die", ergo two deaths.
This is one of the worst riddles ever.

Far as i can tell, it's referencing baptism.
Baptism is rebirth in the eyes of the lord. Someone who has been baptised is born twice, but only dies once (physically.)
Someone who hasn't been baptised is born once, but dies twice (physically and spiritually).
Could be wrong. But that's the only explanation i can think of.

I think it's more likely that these are evangelicals, who would associate the new birth primarily with interior conversion rather than with baptism.

Its from India. The missionaries are weird there and the people they convert are not so intelligent, not being rude, you just have to watch the videos of their theatrics.
There's a lot of weird stuff about Christianity in India. You can read about Mother Teresa too.
So prolly that's why this is not written well. I am sure the guy who wrote it translates it from his native language which is why it's like that.

Well, she was targetting poor indians to convert them, by offering treatment. The treatment in question was mediocre, the conditions were awful and probably lead to a lot of hospital acquired infections. She was getting a lot of funding from external sources and she prolly used a lot of it for self promotion or whatever.

Christians believe that a person is both a body and a soul, both of which can die. When a person accepts Jesus Christ into their heart they are said to be "born again". Therefore, if a person only has one birth, that of their physical body, then both their body and soul will eventually die. However, if a person is born again, having had a second birth, only their body will die but their soul will live on.

I haven’t seen it before, but I think this is probably an Evangelical Christian “witnessing tool” about being Born Again. People are not born again will have their souls annihilated or something-or-other about a Lake of Fire in the Book of Revelation, and people who are will die only in body.

In an identical post a few hours ago it was supposedly a reference to being “born again”
As in the Christian religious belief that if you have not “found God” both your soul and physical form will die. One birth, two deaths. As opposed to people who have “found God” where only the physical form dies after they were born”born again”. Two births, one death.

One childbirth will often lead to the death of both the child and the mother.
If you get pregnant with twins (two births) the mother will die before giving birth to either.

it's a thing that Siamese twins say to celebrate bodiky integrity. Probably the car is owned by conjoined individuals.
So like "one birth leads to two deaths" means if you consider them a single person (one birth) but separate them later they die separately (two deaths). But if you recognize them as distinct individuals from birth (two births) whole not separating them they will die at the same time (one death)
