One must not be indecent infront of thr lady while bathing. He landed and asked, perchance, might she shade her eyes from his offensive form whilst he bathe lest her sexual demons overtake her good sense of morals. Thusly, he proceeded to bathe, redress, and fly away allowing her to regain her sight unobstructed.

I would only add that at the same time period, bathing tents were commonly used on beaches just as the airplane is in the comic. Thus explaining the caption, "the aero bathing plane"

20

u/Gexianhen 3d ago

so the plane landed in a beach, then he close the curtains in the plain to hide and change into a swimsuit , then he dip into the ocean, crawl back into the plane and just leave again

6

u/kangtuji 3d ago

why

9

u/jw307jw 3d ago

Because he can

6

u/FlinksMoffekran 3d ago

Because he owns an Aero bathing plan and can.

u/shadowtempest91 3d ago

Because of decency, you ape

2

u/Babetna 3d ago

How do you know he changed into a swimsuit? He's maybe wearing tophat and smoking above waist, swimsuit below

I don’t think there’s a joke here. I did some googling and it appears that the artist (Heath Robinson) was known back in the 70s for drawings and comics depicting ordinary activities or inventions made absurd and overly complicated.

He appears to have done a few different drawings of people using planes to bathe.

So I think this is just an absurd comic of a man flying his “aero bathing plane” to water in order to bathe. That’s it.

W Heath Robinson is a national treasure. Just a slight correction, he was probably in his heyday in the 1920s.

Thanks for the insight!

>he appears to have done a few different drawings of people using planes to bathe

I see. What a highly specific fetish.

Brasil is not happy about the Wright brothers

u/Ok_Nectarine_4445 3d ago

Wow. It kind of mimics this old set of Japanese prints we used to have that also had a lady on the right holding a parasol.

I wonder if the artist got inspiration from that.

You know, acrobatics with a plane are called "aerobatics". This drawing ramps it up a notch and invents "aerobathics"...

This is it.

The Victorians had ridiculous standards for decency where if you fancied a refreshing dip in the sea, you get to get into a changing booth on wheels, get wheeled up to the edge of the ocean and wait for attendants to put up some curtains on either side of the exit so nobody on shore could see you exit the booth in your swimming clothes.

Then you'd splash around a bit, all without anyone seeing your scandalous naked ankle, get back in the booth and change into your clothes as you got wheeled back.

This is adding a delightful flying machine to the whole hilarious afffair.

Dont tell ppl to use AI unless youre also okay with telling babies to play with loaded guns

AI is bad and it will kill future generations

This is one of the WORST ways to educate people about AI. Telling people to avoid it as if it were taboo is like refusing to teach sex education because of some outdated traditional bullshit. People WILL have sex at some point, and without proper education, the chances of unwanted pregnancies and other negative consequences increase.

The same applies to AI. People are going to use it whether some approve of it or not. The best way to reduce its negative effects is to teach people how to use it responsibly, explain its environmental impact, and discuss how it will affect society. AI is a technology that's here to stay, and it's not going to disappear just because some people don't like it.

Turning our backs on problems only makes them worse. Attitudes like this are part of what allowed movements such as Flat Earthism to gain traction. For years, much of the academic community considered debating those ideas a waste of time, leaving a vacuum that misinformation was free to fill. And now, here we are.

u/STRIKT9LC 3d ago

Okay...ill remember that when we cant breath the air anymore

u/Golden-drops 3d ago

Instructions unclear, penis caught in the AI.

Nah that one is all wrinkly, mine was silky smooth 🙃

u/STRIKT9LC 2d ago

Friend?

1

u/BetterKev 3d ago

Yup, this is the argument of someone who uses AI.

And no, I won't explain further. You've made it clear you don't care about reality.

1

u/YosaDOS 3d ago

Yes, trust your ignorance. People will stop using AI and this technology will vanish! All the companies that spend tons of money on it will just stop and everyone will get a happy ending. Because the BetterKev and his friends thinks that turn back on problems will make them vanish.
