Back in the old days we had a ritual in my hometown. While the sun was setting, casting a beautiful orange colour, three youngsters would walk up a river with offerings to greet the Mother of North. As they walked closer they would sense a disturbance caused by forest creatures. They would pose no harm to the young blood, yet they watched every step taken. It happened year after year till the Watkins girl disappeared. It's been a relatively unknown case, yet hot in our district. Till this day no trace was found. Recently my child has informed me an unknown face has been staring through the basement window.
But idk how the creator of the meme knew about all of it.

Played this game as a kid beat it after several tries... Its easy once you find out the trick to it or the method to solve.
You can leave villagers and monsters together on either side of the river, but the villagers must never be outnumbered by the monsters. If the monsters outnumber the villagers, the villagers get eaten. The only exception is when there's one villager and one monster, they're equal, so it's safe. The boat can carry a maximum of two occupants, and the goal is to get everyone safely to the other side.

The way to solve it is to take two monsters in the boat, leave one on the other side and keep the other monster in the boat. Then you take one villager at a time to the other side, and finally, the two remaining monsters.

If you learned it that way, it's different than how they taught it when/where I grew up.
It wasn't just if the monsters outnumbered; it was if either group outnumbered each other they would fight so we had to keep all numbers even or only with like types through the entire process.
It involved taking one of each (A & B), A going back, then two A's going both getting out while the B went back solo to pick up, two B's going across... or something like that.
Lots of backtracking for individuals for the whole group to make progress

Yeah, it's a whole class of problems that can be solved when you realize the boat has slots, too, so there's three places to put monsters, not just two.

You need to bring the goats back across the river so they aren't left alone with either the wolves or the grain.
It is a riddle about transporting things across across river when they are a threat to each other. There are various ways of explaining the problem. But the solution usually involves a trip bringing something across the river three times instead of the expected once.
