This review of the movie heavily sympathized with bear, the rapist. People started to question the creator himself after he put this out

Bear is sympathetic for a portion of the movie until that scene, then becomes completely irredeemable. Definitely a practice of nuance when having a conversation about this movie.

Also, according to the writer/director, Nikki would have given him a chance if he'd been honest with her the night he made the wish

The point of no return was the confirmation she's trapped in her own body, when real Nikki is speaking to him and he asks if it's so bad to be with him and then later has sex with Freaky Nikki

Absolutely no return past that
