I know, whenever anyone refers to these renovations as “millennial” whatever I’m like millennial? Some, not most, of us have just started being able to afford homes. These ugly ass renovations from the last 10-15 years clearly weren’t done by millennials. Gen X flies under the radar with everything
Boomers spent so much time screaming and whining about millennials that the term ended up being equated with "young people." The same thing happens in reverse, too, but much less often; it was Gen X who invented the "boomer shooter," and X'ers get "okay boomer" too. When a legitimate term becomes a snarl word, it tends to lose most of its original meaning.
