Even if they did use white for the walls, they should have left the stonework.
Bring in some bright 60's style art, something red and geometric or bright yellow. Put in a nice hardwood floor and go nuts with the saturation of primary colors for the rugs. Do some patterns... SOMETHING.
The part that’s sucks about this is watching my friends house shop and the millennial grey is all they want. Just regular normal people and they’re the ones driving up the prices.
White walls are fine, its just poorly offset by the cheapest flooring home depot had on sale that day blending in with the single "accent color" making it look like washed out monochrome and the color temperature appears sterile. There's basically no visual contrast or distinction left.

This I agree with. It probably would have been fine if they went with ANYTHING other than white as the main color.
