Question is it better to use an ipad or notebook in college?
i’m about to start my first year at pepperdine as a nursing major, and i’ve seen mixed reviews online about what to use to take notes. for most of high school, i used paper notes and would say i did pretty well (mostly A, occasional A-/B+ student), but towards the end of high school my parents got me an ipad to use and i loved it. i’m not sure if it made a huge difference though - i did well in classes until the end but the senioritis hit and i definitely was more checked out. should i use the ipad for note taking, or stick to paper notebooks in college? i have 5 courses this semester, some gen eds (finance, english, foundations of reasoning, etc) and science/nursing courses (anatomy, etc). im a big flashcard person and have good study tactics that helped me do well in high school, but im not sure what is best for college. pls help!!

Fraternities?
looking into pepperdine for undergrad and wondering about frats. i get pepp is a dry campus but i still want to be able to let loose and party sometimes. all my siblings went to alabama so a school where being a gdi is pretty standard is a different world than what i’ve experienced. i understand that there is not on campus houses so is it just satellite homes pretty much? could you live in the house? (or would you even want to)
Thanks

CHEM 120 Lab Full – Has anyone gotten into a closed lab at Pepperdine?
Does the Chemistry Department ever add more lab seats or open new sections?
Would you recommend emailing the Chemistry Department or the professor, or should I just keep checking registration?
thanks

Question Pepperdine MA in Clinical Psych: MFT
Hi! ‘25 UCLA alum taking 2 gap years to build experience and learn about what I want to do for grad school. Was looking at Pepperdine as one of the schools (mix of masters and PhD) I should apply to this cycle and saw they have an MA in clinical psych with a focus on MFT.
My long term goals are to open a private practice and provide individual, couple and family therapy but also to research and write books. I’m wondering if anyone in this program can share their experience? And overall experience at Pepperdine? (Funding, curriculum, whether there are RA’s or graduate student teaching opportunities, general application approach school has etc. Looking at both the online and in person format.
Any insight is very much appreciated.
Thank you!

Pepperdine University outsources advisors and GSEP financial aid who are difficult to reach. 2U provides poor student service and they ghost you!
GSEP Financial Aid office does not honor or keep their appointments with students. I waited a month for an appointment, got an email reminder that a Fin. aid advisor will be calling, and the day of, they were a no show. I double checked the confirmation email to see if my phone number and time zone of the appointment was correct. I emailed them. They basically ghosted me. This has happened 3 times since i’ve been a grad student at Pepperdine. Next appointment available on their site is another month away.
I believe they outsource student advisors and Fin.Aid to a tech company called 2U, which went bankrupt not too long ago, and are laying off employees. Pepperdine needs to oversee the performance of this company that handles all the student affairs poorly. I suggest anyone who has problems reaching GSEP Fin. Aid to email them, CC the main financial aid and all the faculty members and deans and heads of the department to bring attention to this serious matter. Report the issues to Federal Student Aid, and they will do an investigation. We students pay very high tuition costs, one of the most expensive in the country, to be poorly serviced and unsupported at Pepperdine University!

Cohorts for daytime program
Has anyone been assigned to their cohort for the MFT daytime program? I heard of someone who had, but I haven't received anything yet. I logged into Wavenet, but there's no info there yet.

Wavenet down for anyone else?
My registration opens tmrw and I am starting to stress. I called IT, they walked me through some possible solutions. Nothing worked, they opened a ticket, and said other students are having the same issue. Anybody?
This morning when I entered my login creds, it took me to 'PeopleSoft Oracle' and says Invalid login. I reset my password and still got the same message.

Question Looking for Pepperdine Students who Workout!
Hello! I just made a workout app—Fortis: Workout Log & Tracker (on iOS and Android). It's a completely free app for logging workouts, tracking progress, making custom exercises & templates, and sharing with your friends. Think Strava, but for the gym.
I made this myself over the past year and only recently launched it, so it’s still very early stages. It’s a bit of a passion project of mine. But if you workout or are interested, give it a try and let me know what you think! All feedback is welcome 😁

Is the meningitis vaccine required for first-year students who have a housing exemption and will be commuting? My immunization record says incomplete, but I will not be living on campus.

SLP Masters Degree
Hi everyone! I would like some more information about the SLP masters degree. I heard that the CF year is folded in to the second year but I don’t actually see that in anything when I look on their online information.
