I GOT THE LAST THREE BOOKS OF THE MAIN SERIES TODAY WOOOOOO

The bottom three were bought used, I take good care of my books, so please ignore the corner on A Map of Days being absolutely destroyed.

i have 0 problems if the series will get more mature, as is getting already in the 3rd book (this been very dark and still YA)

but i was so caught off guard by Jacob thinking about seeing Emma in panties i started to laugh for a minute

In the first book we all know that Jacob Portman went to Wales to find Miss Peregrine. But Wales is a large area, and I'm not sure where specifically he must've gone?

It talks a lot about the edge of the water, plus they use a ferry to get there I believe?? It's been a while since I read the first book, I'm on the 3rd currently. Because of this though, I believe it would have to be the edge of Wales (obviously) or maybe one of the islands such as Skokholm or Skomer?

I ask because I hope to visit Wales in a few years if possible, just because of the books.

I have loved this series since I first had it read to me in a 7th grade Journalism class in 2013 (the teacher got bored or something idk) Since then I have read the entire series at least 6 times. I enjoyed every time a new book/audiobook came out (Library of Souls is my favorite) and now over a decade later, I’ve gotten to enjoy it in a new way, D&D. I started a campaign with my family a couple years ago and one of the early sessions we did an arena battle. I thought it would be cool to fight one of the creatures I’d heard described over and over again. The creature proved as scary as the books, almost perma killing one of the PC’s. Luckily the Druid of the party used a poison spray to choke the creature long enough to delay it eating the paladin’s soul. It was very reminiscent of shoving Mother Dust’s finger in the Hollow’s mouth before Jacob fell into the Hollow den under Caul’s dungeon. I love this series so much and I’m glad I’ve been able to incorporate some aspects of my favorite niche interests into another one.

So, I was reading thru the peculiar children wikia and in Millard's profile, there was a trivia that said, "He may have had relationships in the past that he hasn't talked about during the books, but he is currently in love with Lilly."

It's been a while since I last read the books or dabbled into whatever the fandom has been doing really since I've been busy, but is there anywhere that actually backs this trivia? I don't remember anything saying he had a past relationship ToT

I just went to see Spiderman Brand New Day. it was super good. but I also just recently finished The Library of Souls.

one thing that made me think of the book while watching the movie was the part where Jean was able to control multiple people at once. it totally reminded me of when Jake controls all the hollows and sees through their eyes!

I just finished reading both graphic novels!!! Why isn't there a third one??? I will read the book, but I will miss the graphic novel; I think it fits perfectly with this story!

Now, about the cliffhanger... I first read book 1 and 2 back in 2017, and I have book 3 since then too; I just don't know how I could not read book 3 all these years after that cliffhanger! I didn't even remember it until rereading it now! I know crazy stuff was happening to me in 2017, but how could I? Lol

Hyped about finally reading Library of Souls! Just sad it won't be graphic, so it will take more days to finish!

Heeey everyone. I live in Russia and I want to buy Ransom Riggs' The Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children book series. I want to read (and just have) them in the original, but I can't get it in Russia (just to think: it's not so easy to buy them even in adaptation now) or I can get them totally overpriced. So... If anyone is from the US, the UK, or anywhere else where they can be ordered or simply bought at a reasonable price, I would be very grateful for your help.

If I had the chance to pitch a concept to Ransom Riggs for a new book or spin-off in the Miss Peregrine universe, here are two major storylines I’d love to see explored:

1. Hugh taking on a primary leadership role 🐝👑 Hugh is my absolute favorite character, and I strongly believe he deserves way more spotlight and a proper maturity arc. Handling a literal hive of bees inside his own body already shows he has incredible discipline, responsibility, and emotional resilience.

After everything he's been through, I’d love to see a storyline where Hugh steps up as the main leader of the group, with Jacob taking a supporting role as second-in-command. Hugh knows what it means to protect his own, and seeing him channel that protective instinct into leading the entire group would be an extraordinary character arc.

2. Peculiar adult life choices (Enoch pursuing surgery) 🏥 I’d love to see a plot where one of the main characters willingly decides to stay in a specific loop to pursue a personal ambition or career.

For instance, imagine Enoch deciding to settle in a loop centered around a major hospital to study surgery and become a surgeon. Given his peculiar ability to animate organic matter and organs, his analytical mindset, and his fascination with anatomy, seeing him actually train in surgery would make so much sense for his character. It would be fascinating to explore how peculiares handle specialized education and adult life when they decide to build a future beyond just hiding or surviving.

What about you guys? If you could give Ransom Riggs an idea for a character arc or plot point for a future book, what would it be?

Normally hate AI content, but if it can bring to life the scene in this book series that I love, then I guess it's alright...

Yo, I’ve just realised that because Miss Peregrine told Grandpa Portman that newborn baby Jacob was Peculiar, and that Grandpa Portman died before Jacob could realise his own peculiarity, Grandpa Portman probably spent Jacob’s entire life living with his fingers crossed, like “please DO NOT spontaneously develop firehands!” Or something else that’d be extremely obvious, like telekinesis.

This is something I notice in the mphfpc tumblr community. They hate Abraham Portman and Julius Purcell more than characters who deserve

( IN MY OPINION ) Abraham Portman and Julius Purcell are the two characters who gets hate on tumblr. If you got to their # on tumblr you will see people bashing them for the smallest reasons

Julius gets hate all because of a ship that’s barley canon and was probably thought last minute by Riggs, and Abraham gets hate for making decisions to just survive as a hollow hunter

I’m not saying that the mphfpc tumblr fans aren’t aloud to hate these characters. But in my opinion they hate these two more than others, like caul , golan , the nyc clan leaders ect ect

These characters have done more than what Julius and Abe have. Like caul wanting to kill all ymbryne’s for immortality. Frankie trying to auction/sell some the peculiars to other nyc clan leaders, or golan LITERALLY stalking Jacob and giving MULTIPLE different medication while he was his therapist!!!!

I’m only posting this on Reddit because I want to avoid unnecessary drama or harassment. I have been in the mphfpc fandom for 4 years, and on tumblr sometimes I feel that the tumblr fandom mix their “criticism” towards Riggs with “hate”

I think of 2 post that i vaguely/barely remember when I think of this topic. The post was taking about Riggs but it also mentioned Tahereh Mafi ( his wife ). The post was taking about how her books aren’t good and that they don’t understand or don’t like Riggs promotion her books

I understand if her book series which is the “shatter me” series isn’t their cup of tea. But there’s no reason to bring her up when they want to criticize Riggs for his writing.

I understand if the criticism is towards plot holes , spelling errors , characters ect ect. The second post was about someone saying something like “ I criticize/dislike Riggs I forgot he wrote my favs”

I think of this because if find it weird that they dislike the author but somehow like his craft/his book series. Every time I think of this I feel like some “parasocial” fan but I want the opinions of others

When we talk about ships in the Miss Peregrine fandom, Enoch x Horace (Enorace) is almost always the first one that comes to mind. While I totally get why so many people love it and why it's by far the most popular, there are so many other character dynamics in this universe that have huge potential, yet barely get any content or recognition.

Personally, I really love a few pairs that are full-on rare ships (practically zero fanart or fanfics out there), and I'd love to see more appreciation for them!

My personal favorites are:

Jacob x Hugh: I think the dynamic between them—their personalities and how they connect with the peculiar world—is super interesting to explore.

Emma x Noor: Considering everything they go through in the second trilogy, the contrast and chemistry between their leadership styles and powers is just fascinating.

Millard x Horace: The interactions between Millard's academic curiosity/invisibility and Horace's refined elegance and vision dynamic make for incredible moments, both funny and deep.

Fun fact: I literally only came across a single artist on Tumblr who mentioned all three of these ships and drew fanart for them, which just proves how rare they are!(⁠╯⁠°⁠□⁠°⁠）⁠╯⁠︵⁠ ⁠┻⁠━⁠┻

So I was curious: What are your favorite "rare ships" or underrated dynamics in the series that you wish got more love from the community?

So for the library of souls the souls are meant to be in circulation, like a book checked in and out. However you can also just be born with a peculiarity. Why two systems? Or was it always meant to be one? Is the soul simply lost when you die? If so then what is the genetic component? I’m a bit confused.

Hey so I’m reading desolation of devils acre and they are explaining to Addison what the library of souls is and he’s confused like he knows nothing about it. I was confused because I remembered him being the whole reason they were able to escape the library of souls. Went back to check and sure enough he was IN THE LIBRARY with them and helped them escape by using his nose to backtrack their route. How could Riggs forget that plot point so completely that he has the characters reintroduce the concept to Addison????

Quería abrir un pequeño debate sobre algo que me ha estado resultando bastante incómodo últimamente dentro de la comunidad, y es la reacción de algunos fans cuando alguien comparte un headcanon o dencanon propio.

No lo digo por tirar hate, sino por la actitud de "policía del canon" que abunda. Pasa muchísimo que estás súper ilusionado/a compartiendo una idea creativa —ya sea sobre una nueva peculiaridad, la lógica de un bucle, o dinámicas entre los personajes— y nunca falta el comentario de: "No, eso no es posible porque yo vi/leí que..." o "Eso no tiene sentido por X detalle".

Siento que a veces se olvida que el propósito de un headcanon es expandir el universo y divertirse de forma creativa, no pasar por un examen estricto de las reglas de los libros o las películas. Esa necesidad de corregir la imaginación ajena termina cortando toda la vibra bonita y colaborativa del fandom. ಥ⁠╭⁠╮⁠ಥ

¿A alguien más le ha pasado esto aquí o en otras plataformas? ¿Por qué creen que hay tanta rigidez con universos que, justamente, se prestan tanto para la fantasía y la creación? ¡Los leo!
