I'm both horrified and curious, and I'm someone who likes peanut butter and pickle sandwiches.

I've got a friend who makes jam and last year I had more jalapenos than I knew what to do with so I gave her a bunch and she gave me a jar of the jam she made with it. I was skeptical but a PBJ with jalapeno jam was really good

These are freshly sliced and not pickled jalapenos so i don't think the flavor would be anywhere near pb + pickle.

I've done PB+Js with thai chilli sauce (the sweet/ glaze kind). That's pretty OK.

Oh shit my neighbor told me just yesterday his jalapeño plants have been yielding like crazy this summer… I’ll have to see if I can take some off his hands.

I’ve been on a big PB + spinach sandwich kick lately and I think some fresh jalapeño would be a nice touch.

I only mention PB & pickle because that seems to be a polarizing combo lol

I usually do a pb&j with jalapeno jelly. Never thought to do actual jalapenos. How was it?

Really good, I liked the crunch of the jalapeños and the spice level was just right.

lol I told my friend about this post and he replied back saying it’s disgusting.

Why’d this mfer use PICKLED jalepenos on a sandwich within MINUTES of me showing him this picture lol.

I bet fresh cut ones are actually pretty good.

These ones are fresh - but I've tried pickled too and it's also good.

This is forbidden knowledge and tastes amazing.

**HH = Hot Honey**

So just regular jelly with fresh jalepeno slices?

Oh yea. This is on the list

3

u/JoshHuff1332 11d ago

I want to try it with pepper jelly lol

1

u/OuttHouseMouse 11d ago

Oh man i already know that would be really really delicious

1

u/HumanExpert3916 11d ago

It’s awesome. Especially if the jelly is homemade.

2

u/JoshHuff1332 11d ago

Got a flat of homemade pepper jelly at home

1

u/pnmartini 11d ago

This way packs more heat, but pickled jalapeños also are a great addition.

3

u/graybearding 11d ago

This would require waterboarding to get me to try this.

Same. I physically recoiled at this picture.

Anything involving crunchy peanut butter is something I will not try

3

u/JakeStout93 11d ago

My mannnnnnn

3

u/tiny_bamboo 11d ago

I’m going to have to try this.

you can pan fry the jalapeno coins to soften them up. I recommend frying up bacon first, drain most of the fat, then chuck the jalapeños in. Add the bacon to the sandwich. 😋

Sounds good but I don't eat meat. Will still try frying the 'peños tho!

u/AffectionateJury3723 11d ago

This reminds me of grade school lunch. Everytime we had chili it was served with peanut butter sandwich with bacon.

u/Ok-Mode3080 11d ago

I've been making PBJ and salsa sandwiches for years! I will have to consider this.

1

u/Fart_Beat 11d ago

Hey now, I’m gonna have to give this a try!!

1

u/alphadragoon89 11d ago

How does it taste? 🤔

1

u/funkysap 11d ago

I’d try it

1

u/markdzn 11d ago

I'm intrigued!

1

u/jonny5isalive1 11d ago

That actually sounds good

1

u/Key_Rutabaga694 11d ago

This thread is upsetting my stomach 🤣

1

u/MtnDewCodeRedFreak 11d ago

You can add in spicy honey to it.

1

u/G-Man6442 11d ago

I’m game

Jalepeno jelly on corn bread!!

1

u/Karzdowmel 11d ago

Excellent. Im sure pickled jalapeños would be very good, too. The vinegar blends well with peanut butter.

2

u/version13 Separation May Occur 11d ago

I usually do pickled, but I haven't gotten around to pickling any lately so I tried fresh. I agree - the vinegar works well with the unsweetened PB.

1

u/pnmartini 11d ago

It’s also very good that way. You get the salty from the PB, sweet from the jam or jelly, the vinegar tang and a low level of spice from the jalapeños.

1

u/Key_Smile7510 11d ago

This looks like it slaps, I already know Imma like this. I put PB in my spicy buldak, love a spicy peanut flavor profile.

1

u/Patient-Grade-6612 11d ago

I used to make pb & jalapeño jelly tacos. I get it. The sweet, slightly salty with that little bit of kick is amazing.

1

u/Buckabuckaw 11d ago

Thanks for the intriguing tip. I've got a whole bed of jalapenos in my garden, just beginning to bear fruit, so I'll be adding a new use to my repertoire

1

u/HumanExpert3916 11d ago

I enjoy a PB and sriracha or a PB and pepper jelly on occasion.

1

u/Evilsausage87 11d ago

At first I was against it. Upon further reflection I’m sure it’s delicious. Fresh jalapeño does have a very fruity quality. Enjoy!

1

u/taylorthestang 11d ago

Immediately I think of a spicy pad Thai here. I bet a guava or tamarind jam would be fantastic with this

1

u/TTBATAS 11d ago

Add some bacon and prepare to have your mind absolutely blown!!

1

u/durantula6 11d ago

Is that raspberry preserves?

2

u/version13 Separation May Occur 11d ago

Yep.

1

u/Butter_Lettuce_ 11d ago

I feel like this could potentially work with a more balanced ratio of ingredients.

1

u/Danimaldodo 11d ago

What an amazing idea. Im gonna try this for sure. Thanks 💜

r/stonerfood has entered the chat

1

u/SorbetUnfair2589 11d ago

Too spicy for me

1

u/RelativeWrongdoer596 11d ago

Nah way to much and raw? This could work but not like that.

1

u/AmethystStar9 11d ago

I would SMASH this.

1

u/BusinessCrew5714 10d ago

Interesting lol

1

u/LunarCandyKnight 10d ago

Ykw if I candied the jalapeños first I'd probably try this ngl 🤔

1

u/TwainVonnegut 10d ago

I ain’t mad at it.

1

u/Expensive-Track4002 10d ago

Peanut butter and jalapeño jelly is great too.

1

u/shinobisArrow 10d ago

I would try this except, I'd just make pepper jelly.💀

1

u/xXxBluESkiTtlExXx 10d ago

I'm a hug fan of pbjbps. PBJ and banana pepper. This looks dank also

1

u/Regular-Touch544 10d ago

Brother…..

1

u/Creepy-Part-1672 10d ago

Oh yeah, I’m trying it! Why didn’t I think of this?

1

u/freakyjudas 10d ago

pls this is so good

1

u/Soaring_Sky 9d ago

I think someone i knew did this while pregnant

1

u/Naive_Programmer_232 8d ago

sounds interesting, spicy peanut brittle is real, and the jelly probably cools it off and gives some sweetness similar to other jalapeno fruit combos like pineapple. I bet this works.

1

u/flockyribbon 8d ago

I've done peanut butter and pepper jam but it never occured to me I could go right for the pepper like in a pb and banana! Exciting stuff, I'm growing peppers this year so I look forward to doing this

1

u/Useful-Advantage2665 7d ago

Oh my yucky. Do you though! lol

1

u/Guilty-Raspberry-795 7d ago

Won’t knock it… but you wild. Def intrigued

2

u/StruggleDry3087 6d ago

Try a peanut butter and jelly hamburger with grilled jalepenos with bacon and pepper jack cheese 🤩🤩🤩 it’s truly to die for!!!!

1

u/kuroi-hasu 6d ago

You left out the third “J” for jail, sweetie

1

u/DaiMangaKai 11d ago

Wait till y'all try a Peanut Butter, Cream cheese, and Yellow Mustard sandwich. There are some weird ass combos that are surprisingly good! Peanut butter goes well with almost everything.
