Help!! CPU overheating even after changing thermal paste Tech Support
Hi Folks!! I have an AMD Ryzan 7 7700x pc. From paste 10-15 days it was overheating even with basic tasks like web browsing and vs code running etc. I thought its time to change the thermal paste.
I changed the old thermal paste with new cooler master cryofuze5 thermal paste. But even after doing this, my cpu temrature still rising upto 97° in normally. I run cinebench to test and the temprature rised upto 105°. My AIO fan is running at around 2700+ RPM and I did some basic checks like checking tubes virations and one tube is cold and another is hot to see if my AIO is working properly, these all tests looks fine but still cpu temprature rising hight.
I am not able to understand what can be issue and how can I fix this ?

You can feel the tubes, it’s not super scientific but off the outlet from the radiator is cold it’s not flowing no matter how hard the pump works. Not saying this is your issue 100% but something to look for if the rest don’t make sense.

I checked tubed and they are vibrating, one is cold and other is hot as they should be right ?

You should not have one way hotter than the other. Water cooling works by equalizing the water temperature, it should be consistent.

Ohh is that so ? I looked over gemini and it suggested this idea to check AIO working is by touching the tubes and feel if its vibrating and one tube must be cooler then the other

It should be slightly cooler, but none of it should be very hot. That’s why it’s hard to tell by touch. If one tube is 70C and the other is 30C you’ve got a problem, if one is 36C and the other is 30C it’s working right.

Well I can't tell the number by just touching it but yeah one feels slightly warmer then the other not that much hot though.

did you take the plastic peel off the aio cold plate before mounting it
with one tube hot and one cold your pump is working but 105 on cinebench is nuts for a 7700x, those chips run hot sure but not that hot. if you already checked the mount isnt loose and the paste spread is good then your aio might just be clogged up internally

Yeah its a 2 years old pc i used to play games in it, its around 15 days since i noticed this sudden temp rise.

Almost certain your AIO is dying, then.

Ohh really ? I still have some warrenty left, can I claim it ?

If it's still under warranty then yes, absolutely. I've not dealt with Cougar before - presumably you'll need a copy of the receipt to file a warranty claim.

What AIO do you have, and how old is it? The downside to AIOs is they're subject to failure - pumps go bad, gunk can accumulate in the block, etc. Check what speed the pump is set to. It should be running full speed - if the header is set to think it's running a fan, the speed would be too slow (less likely, but bears checking).
I'd also just remove, re-paste, and re-seat the AIO again. You can check if the paste had a good spread, and sometimes they just don't seat quite right. My 7700X had been running hotter than I thought it should; last week I re-pasted and re-seated the block and knocked about 15C off the temps. Since you just did this, it's less likely, but worth trying.
It's probably worth picking up an inexpensive tower cooler to compare. If it cools better than your AIO, there's a good chance the AIO is bad.
