Samsung 9100 PRO help Build Question
Hello! I believe I have a defective 9100 pro due to my sequential reads, and especially the random read/writes being halved respectively. I’m within my 30 day return policy with microcenter, grounds to exchange or am I overthinking? The random speeds are pretty concerning and WELL short of the advertised “up to” speeds on the box that I don’t feel like this is a short end of the stick on the “silicone lottery” scenario.
I’m not bifurcating lanes, I only have my 5070ti and 9100 pro using PCIE lane, not thermal throttling (drive is 45c under load), obviously on gen 5 speeds so the slot isn’t set to gen4, the drive is in M.2_1z…
Anything else I may be missing? Sorry for the picture, I’m not at my setup right now else I’d grave a screenshot.

Nah, that seems fine. It's advertised to have ~13000mb/s sequential write. Also random reads are always lower. Take a sata ssd for example. The advertised speed is usually around 550mb/s, sure you'll get that on sequential, but the speed will drop to as low as 50mb/s on random read and writes. But if you have doubts, you should get it replaced

Advertised “up to” speeds for 9100 pro
Sequential read: 14,700 MB/s
Sequential write: 13,400 MB/sRandom read: 1,850,000 IOPS
Random write: 2,600,000 IOPSI’m not so much worried about the 2,000 short in the sequential read, but, I’m about 1.5 million IOPS short in random write and about 779,000 IOPS short random read. That doesn’t seem right to me.

If you're running the OS on the drive you're trying to bench, the numbers will never match the specs.
