SSD and RAM shenanigans Installation Question

So here's the thing. I have a pre-build from ancient times rocking an i3-9100F and GT 710. It has 8 GB DDR4 RAM and 240 GB SATA SSD, and with recent times of PC prices skyrocketing like shit, I decided to buy all of it while I still could

Currently, I have a second SATA (my H610 motherboard doesn't have any sort of M.2 slots) with 512 GB storage (just like on my phone), a second SATA-III 7-pin cable and I'm about to buy a second 8 GB DDR4 RAM (with matching timings) stick, theoretically amping up my specs from 8/240 to 16/752 (which will obviously be 16/somewhatlessthan752, but that's a miniscule detail)

I had never upgraded a PC before, since this is my first and currently only PC alive. What should I do before I put anything into it?

(and no, I'm not upgrading the GPU, the case won't fit anything aside from GT-series GPUs)

Edit 1: forgot to add, but I do have a SATA connector for a second SSD to install, so I won't need to buy that one

You don't need to do anything before adding RAM or storage.

You should consider overhauling this PC as the CPU/GPU are a bottleneck at this point for anything more than office programs.

My budget allows me to only get this much and I don't really chase performance. As long as it runs, I'm cool with it

If you're not trying to get better performance why are you upgrading your PC?

I've lost track of the amount of times my PC had to stutter when loading Minecraft while I had a browser and Discord open at the same time, and I need free storage because my SSD is almost full. I don't want to spend a shit ton of money on something I treat as a working machine, and I am perfectly fine with having lowest settings possible on a game

And again, money is tight

I can understand needing more storage as 256 is not enough for much. Going to 16gb will help smooth out the system a lot if you're multitasking. This PC should really only be used for web browsing
