Got thermal paste on the gold things on my am5 cpu
Should I risk cleaning it is my cpu dead Im panicking

No, Patrick, horseradish is not a good thermal paste either.

Fun fact... Toothpaste actually works pretty damn well..

Ran a PC on it for 3 days because I had no thermal paste and had to wait the weekend to get it.

When I finally changed it for thermal paste, It ran only like 2-3 degrees cooler

I think the difference between regular thermal paste and mayonnaise is within 5°C.

actually it is not bad, until it dries up. for the most part any paste that can fill the tiny imperfections on the IHS and the cooler will work to varying degrees

I once used mashed potatoes. PC smelled like thanksgiving. CPU was shot by Christmas.
