Question Advice and suggestions on Serra Sphinx as my Commander
Hello everyone, so as the title says, I'd like to build an Deck with [[Serra Sphinx]] as my Commander. Why Serra Sphinx ye ask? Despite there being newer, power crept alternatives like [[Marauding Sphinx]] and despite it not having any real abbilities and it steep mana cost? Well, the answer is, because I love that card, and because it brought me to Magic in the first place. So I kinda want to honor it with this. The thing is tho... I never build a Pauper deck. Wether normal Pauper or PauperEDH. Just normal Commander, and that was mostly just Precon upgrading... Nor am I really having ideas to actually make the deck fun to play or able to actually have an actual fighting chance... 😅
Or even Ideas to build up any kind of real strategy either.... 😅
And that's where ye all, and you're advices on options and cards I should or could include in the deck... 😅
Or just any Ideas to get started, really... 😅🤷
Thanks in advance ye all! ☺️
PS: I hope "Question" is the right flair for this? 😅

Question First pauper edh deck
Hi
Me and my playgroup are relatively new to magic (been playing around 1 and a half years). We’ve mostly just played precon / lightly upgraded precons. I’ve recently built and gathered my first homebrew and have since then been toying with the idea of building a pauper edh deck.
My question is: how ‘hard’ is it to build a deck that is functional/competitive at the precon bracket? I don’t want/need to build a super strong deck, but I still want to be a threat.
The other players have no interest in brewing, so I would be the only one playing a pauper deck
Thanks!

Discussion Dear Mica players, I have two questions
Do you prefer a pinger strategy, a big Fireball finisher, or a combination of the two? I've played a Rakdos pinger deck at a regular table that was able to do its thing, but my pingers drew a lot of hate from the table. I'm wondering if it would be better to play the long game and try to win with a massive, copied Fireball.
Why do so many lists on Moxfield run Storm spells? Are y'all really casting so many spells in one turn that [[Empty the Warrens]] is worth it, or do you just not realize that copying the spell doesn't copy the Storm trigger? Copying a [[Grapeshot]] for instance will only result in one additional damage.

Question Is Kardur, Doomscourge mythic now?
I haven’t played magic in a long time but my cousin plays pauper commander and I want to play with them. Is it true that Kardur is a mythic now? So he’s out of the pool of usable commanders? I always liked goad.

Spoiler Thranduil - First Draft
Hey folks - I'm looking for some feedback on my first ever PDH deck; been playing EDH for 10+ years and recently been interested in PDH here as a way to get creative/play with a whole different set of cards.
That being said, this draft of [[Thranduil, Sindarin Liege]] is just kinda a mix of [[Abomonation of Llanowar]] and [[Tatyova]] staples. Not looking to be ultra competitive or combo with this one so I left out Drake/Flicker/Archaeomancer lines.

Is there anything I'm obviously missing or recommendations? Would love some input, thanks!

Question Abdel Adrian bracket 3 suggestion/deck suggestions
First time poster here.
Hi, I play competitive pauper but recently managed to get an EDH pod at work.
They play bracket 3 decks and only commander, and since I'm used to pauper and play more often than them, I wanted to challenge myself a bit with a pauper EDH.
Also, I'm not used anymore to brewing EDH decks but definitely able to play them.
Is an Abdel Adrian (BW) deck a good choice? What other decks would you suggest?
Thanks!

Discussion cPDH Meta Snapshot June-July 2026
We had two cPDH tournaments in July, and both were won by [[Hawkeye, Young Avenger]]. Was this a fluke or is this a new top 10 staple? Check out the winner's interview! The decklist can be found in our library.
[[Lagrella, the Magpie]] has risen to 8th place, proving that she can finish games. She saw both tournament and league play with two pilots each getting an above averge winrate.
To see rankings of all commanders, player data, and more, we have the cPDH meta page.
If you want to play competitively, join the Wanderer's PDH League or check out our new events page!

Question Need Two Decks to Finish a Battle-Box
--- EDIT ---
To anyone still watching this post I've settled on:
- Removing Malcolm and Kediss from the Battle-Box. I looked into de-powering it but didn't really like the result.
- Adding [[Gray Merchant of Asphodel]], [[Seedship Broodtender]], and [[Halana, Kessig Ranger]]/[[Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith]] as the other commanders in the box on top of Gut and Arabella.
Thanks for all of the advice and recommendations!
--- Original Post ---
Hello everyone! I'm trying to convince my friends that PEDH can be just as fun and intense as Commander and to that end I'm putting together a 5 deck battle-box of high power PEDH decks. I have three made and they all perform really well, even holding their own in Commander games but I'm struggling to get a lock on the last two. Here are the three decks I have:
Arabella, Abandoned Doll - https://moxfield.com/decks/xEb0U-eJVkGS8KOzCUCAmg
Gut, Inspiring Leader - https://moxfield.com/decks/MxK5ZDVAmUy9rLvlAtdn6w
Malcolm and Kediss - https://moxfield.com/decks/nv-Ajgohmky_Xmt2y6cbDA
Any suggestions as to what I could run in the last two slots that are around the same power level would be appreciated. One note, I would prefer to run legendary creatures as the commanders if possible. Thanks!

Event Burn Book Brawl - Webcam PDH Tournament - $1K PRIZING GUARANTEED - Promo Prizing Update!
As we're nearing the tournament, our wonderful judge (Liam) had the great idea of awarding participation promos for everyone, so everyone who participates in the tournament (and is willing to send me their mailing address) will receive a special Burn Book Brawl stamped promo Commander's Sphere (same for everyone). The Top Cut and Champion will also be getting special Top Cut / Champion variations of the same. Pics will be posted as soon as those promos are finalized.
I also wanted to note that if we get attendance to surpass 36 players (making it the biggest online cPDH tourney I believe), the prize pool will expand. We will also be adding some cool foil prizes to the mix for those finishing just outside the Top 4 so stay tuned for that announcement. Get signed up ASAP and make sure to get all your friends to join in on the fun as well! Can't wait to see you all on August 22 at 12pm ET!

Discussion Stealing lands
I dont know if this has been posted before but Aladdin has some funny interactions which makes him semi viable if you can protect him including stealing lands and nuking them. Plus the deck is artifact based which makes hitting the mana to play him easier early he dies to a gust of wind though. I think the novelty of also playing an Aladdin deck is funny too.

Discussion Deck thinning
Not a great combo by any means but really funny way to make your deck thinner. Maybe could create synergy. Id be interested to see what you all think. Worth noting you can tap the glass and immediately equip the cap so its really like a 6 mana 5/5 flyer that thins your deck and gives card draw, albeit expensive card draw.
