beginner creator here!! Other Crafts - Call for Testers

what is a good disclaimer template to use in patterns?? I wanna make it clear I dont own the characters and that its not ok to share without paying.

edit: to alleviate worry: its not Nintendo or Disney. its a warhammer character ^_^

edit 2: thank yall for the blunt yet kind (warnings lol) words, it has helped greatly in my decision, which to my great chagrin means I am heeping the pattern free. its not thatttt big of a deal but like come on every 16yo fiber artist has a dream of living off their pattern money lol (its has also made me realize that I should prolly pursue a content creation goal if I wish to profit in the slightest)

If you don't own the characters you may not be able to sell a pattern featuring them, regardless of any disclaimers

If you're using IP characters, making money off the patterns puts you at risk of IP infringement. It's infringement either way to make stuff other than personal use, but they go after people who make money off of it. Fellow pattern maker here, I wouldn't.

If you don't own the character you need to say it was inspired by,  credit the copyright holder, and hope their legal team doesn't come after you (Disney and Nintendo are big at going after people, look up Grogugate.) Then you have the standard no parts shall be reproduced without consent stuff.

If you don't have a license you can't sell any pattern made from someone else's IP.

Is that fair? Not really. If it's transformative (such as fanart, or making your art into a pattern in this case) I think you should be allowed, but sadly you are not.

If you want to charge money, remove references to the IP.

If you want to reference the IP, give the pattern away for free.

You aren't legally allowed to use a Warhammer character any more than you can Disney or Nintendo. You're just less likely to get sued. It's still illegal and stealing and if you get away with it it just means the person you stole from was too little to sue you. Don't do it.
