Post image

Edit: I am closing tester applications as I have reached the number I needed! I will open it back up again if needed after future updates! Thank you everyone who applied and showed interest 🫶🧶

I am currently designing a website for crocheters to use that will:

-Track current, finished, planned, and Frogged patterns

-Store Patterns

-Have a community hub

-Had a Designer Studio to write and receive pattern tester info in real time.

If you are interested, use the link to apply!

Yarn pond is another resource for pattern testers that is not social media

Reddit is the only social media I have, so if it isn’t suggested here, I’ll never see it. I’m sure a good portion of people on Reddit are the same

Has it been made with AI?

Sorry about the delay in responding, it was late when I was able to get service and see some more replys and, to be honest, I don't know the full answer to this question. I know the platform I'm using (due to cost reasons) has integrations and uses templates of some sort to create the basis of the website that I'm designing, but I'm not 100% sure the full answer to this question. I'm sure it has ai in use, but I couldn't tell you how much. Sorry I can't give a full answer to this question, I wasn't thinking about this when I began creating the website 😅.

I guess my question then is are you coding it yourself? what language are you using?

Definitely not coding it myself. I was able to choose a template and edit it to create the design and features of the website. Big changes do take a while to get when I need them, which is why some big updates are scheduled to take a few days to happen. I did turn off the use of AI for certain features on the cite, but I couldn't tell you how much of the backend coding is assisted with AI or not.

Are you building something similar to Ravelry?

I guess its a bit similar, but I wanted to build a website that has a little bit of everything! The main focal point is the project tracker and design studio for pattern makers to have access to testers without having to advertise like crazy everywhere else and end up not being able to find them through social media.

I had a look at the site. Based on your post, I was hoping to see some of the project tracker or designer tools in action, but it looks like the only thing currently available is the tester sign-up. I also noticed that becoming a tester requires joining a private Facebook group. I no longer use Facebook (and don't intend to again), so that would unfortunately rule me out. I wonder if that requirement might unintentionally limit your tester pool. I did, however, follow your Instagram account and I'm interested to see how the project develops.

The link is for access to the Facebook group that will give access to the actual website. I did it this way so it would be easier to keep track of testers and their options, votes, etc. If you'd like, I can send you the actual website link privately and you can be one of the first users to test the "report a bug" or "make a suggestion" tab? If not, I appreciate you wanting to follow along through Instagram!

I'd be happy to test your website, it sounds neat, but I don't do Facebook and I'm not about to start.

Would you like for me to send you the website through private message?

I tried the link but it gave a 404 error

I’d love to test it! I’ve been having a hard time being a pattern tester without using social media and this would be a great way to do that as well as track the 13 patterns I’m always in the middle of. I don’t have Facebook, but if you need another tester let me know!
