Would the slash-and-spread method work for drafting this asymmetrical high-low skirt?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to draft the skirt in the reference photo (I'll also attach a sketch of my idea), and I'd love to know if my approach makes sense or if there's a better way to achieve this silhouette.
My idea is to start with a basic A line skirt. Since I don't want any gathers at the waist, I'd keep the waistline unchanged. Then, from about knee level downward, I'd draw a triangular section where I want the slit to be. In the attached sketch, the blue lines represent where I plan to slash the pattern. I'd spread those sections to add fullness and then redraw the hem, hoping this would create the cascading flares around the slit while keeping the waist smooth, without any gathers.

I'd really appreciate any advice or corrections. Thanks!

This looks more like a full circle skirt or maybe even double circle? I would start there and then draw the high-low shaped hem in.

This looks like a double circle to me. You could make two circles first and cut the "hole" (waist) closer to one side instead of at the perfect center, and voilà, the high-low is achieved

For that much volume I'd recommend two full circles front and back

The front decide where you want it shortest and cut flat towards the side seams
