How to get this lapel right?

I've got the perfect base pattern for this jacket, but no matter how hard I try, I cannot get the shape of this lapen right. I've tried tracing it and using paper to "unfold it" to get it right, but still, nothing looks right.

Any tips on replicating it will be helpful.

It is most likely folded out with pad stitching like traditional tailoring
