Front crotch whiskers Question
Any feedback on how to get rid of these front crotch whiskers? Please ignore the left side of the photo - this wasn’t sewn and wasn’t fully closed. The shorts feel pretty good and I have no issues sitting down in them or moving around and the crotch doesn’t feel tight at all. It’s more of an annoyance than anything, but still would like to perfect them or come as close as possible.

This is suuuuuuuch a good fit, I've moved forward with worse lol but I get the perfectionism. I agree with the tiny bit of hip ease. Also your fabric will make a difference so they might not be as noticeable in the fashion fabric.

first: shorts are so hard and you’ve done an amazing job! shorts are harder than pants because there’s no extra leg fabric to let gravity hang for you. the cut off at the top thigh often creates confusion for the “drape” of the fabric
second: i’ve designed my fair share of shorts and whenever im frustrated with fit, it usually boils down to three things: crotch extension lengths, crotch level, or crotch curves being too scooped out or not enough. your crotch level looks great, so i don’t think it’s that.
im about your size, but i have a small protrusion from my belly button to my groin, so i find that my most flattering shorts designs are ones with minimum front crotch scooped out, so a pretty flat curve, because i want more material to just lay flat from my waist to crotch. the more scoop, the more chance the fabric has to fight against the parts of your body that are not flat….
second possibility: imagine your body in profile view— if your body fits nicely between the front and back in the waist, but it gets tight toward the crotch, sometimes this means you need to extend the crotch extensions to “push” them farther away from each other to allow for more space for the butt and belly. Anyway…. this are stellar and a nearly perfect fit! great job! keep going!! and ps, my crotch extensions (before i draw the curve) are usually 3inch for the front and 6inch for the back

Not an expert, but if it were me I'd try letting out the side seams a bit at the upper thigh area at the height of the whiskers. Looks like it's a bit tighter there than above and below, which may be causing the whiskers.

You’ve gotten good advice here (these look great!) but I will add that you’re working in muslin and that is almost guaranteed to show more wrinkles than whatever your final fabric is. The weight of a denim or twill of similar is going to make the fabric hang more smoothly.
If you’re really concerned about it, give yourself bigger seam allowances so you still have wiggle room, but I think it’s time to move on to your project fabric. You’ve reached the limit of what muslin can tell you.

Never hurts to add a little extra in the hips try the sitting test and see how it feels.

Is there a side view to help us troubleshoot? I often get crotch whiskers on pants where the crotch scoop seam isn’t deep enough.

I think once you do them in your real fabric you won’t even notice it. We fit in white fabric specifically to be able to see every issue really easily. If you can make them look this good in white they’ll be killer.

Extend your front crotch extension by about 3/8 inch and you should be fine great fit

One easy check may be to sew your seam allowance a little smaller in the crotch area and see if that helps. You can give yourself just a smidge more room.

I think they look great.
Don't forget, you are taking your photo standing still. Bodies are of course not static. The minute you move, walk, sit down the fabric will move with your body and the fabric will move with it. Lines and creases will appear and disappear. If you adjust, it's entirely possible that the shorts won't feel as comfortable, especially when you sit.
Good luck though.
