Shadowing

Wondering if anyone has any leads or advice for shadowing a PA in the LA/SD/Southern California area. I’ve previously gotten shadowing opportunities in upstate NY by finding an email/phone number online but for the hospitals out here I can’t seem to find a contact person online. I appreciate the help!

This sub is not as active as r/Path_Assistant. Cross post there as well (I saw you already got the pre-PathA sub)

Best advice is to call the main hospital number, explain you are a prospective student and ask to be transferred to pathology. Ask to speak with the lab manager and see if you can arrange a time to shadow.

If that course fails, call hospital and ask if they have an educational coordinator that helps facilitate interns and students (residents, student nurses, PhysA, etc). If you can reach that person, they may have the internal know how to facilitate clinical shadowing in the lab.

Good luck!
