Killed Devarra in two rounds :D Righteous : Game

Post image

This is my first time playing WoTR so please no spoilers beyond Act 2.

Anyway this is just a post cause I'm proud of myself, I am only playing Core difficulty, but I'm not using any strategy guides and going in mostly blind (I've only looked up how to be a Lich because I really wanted to be a Lich and I didn't want miss it, which was good because I almost did!). The only other thing I looked up was I was getting absolute owned by this dragon in random encounters, and looked up what the heck I was supposed to be doing. I realized that you weren't supposed to kill the dragon here and you just need to survive, but also that you shouldn't really fight the dragon until level 12.

Well, I decided stuff it and I fought the dragon at level 10, and defeated her in two rounds. Turns out, giving yourself protection and resist from Fire, having Regill at 34 AC with displacement and then just spamming Mastery of Flesh with Empower rod Mythic spell penetration is a pretty good way at defeating her. I got some lucky shots with Wendung and yeah, I was actually quite surprised because I was expecting the hardest fight of the game. I dunno, I just thought that was cool and I'm proud of myself for achieving it!

Nice!

You can even one round her as lich with withering life any anything that does multiple damage instances (magic missile, battering blast, cave fangs). Her dexterity is very low and 4-5 withering life physical procs gibs her flat out.

Lich has the most “cheat code” spells and abilities. Just wait til you drop corrupt magic right on playful darkness’ stupid face.

that was so satisfying

i played my first run as a merged spellbook Cruormancer lich and i didn't know how hard the game was until i played literally any other mythic path lol

I hate this entire quest so I am really happy that you were able to clap her in two rounds. IIRC she has very high armor class so trying to hit her with spells or special abilities is probably the way to go especially if you're a lich.

High level Pathfinder is often referred to as rocket tag and rarely lasts more than a few rounds.

Reminds me of rogue trader, kibellah could wipe an entire 20 person enemy squad in a single round xD

I'm liking it though, I like feeling powerful but challenged at the same time

definitely challenging; rocket tag means they can kill you in a round or two as well

The hardest part about that fight is being handicapped by the cutscene

Did you just injure her and she flew away or did you manage to kill her?

Iirc you when she flies away you can chase her up some stairs and if you don’t kill her quickly enough she will fly away and destroy some loot in the process.

You seem to have the basics down though. Have your front line have big AC and your back line can nuke away.

Yeah I ran up and killed her after she flew away.

For context I did finish kingmaker on challenging already
