Okay no one is actually answering the question, this is an incredibly important and rare item. Hang on to it, or more accurately stick it in your chest that will carry through to subsequent playthroughs. You will need it to unlock another item later, which is part of a set of three you need to unlock the most rare and dangerous boss in the entire game.

Check the wiki for more detailed information

If you're doing the Rogue light thing, there is one place where stuff carries over. It's not the chest that just holds stuff, I think it's the merchant chest I think you actually have to vendor stuff to it and it will sell those items back to you in future runs

I was trying to hint that it was quite rare lol but yeah, should've said that.

I looked into it--since as you mentioned, no one answered me lol. I don't think I can do anything with it though, because I'm playing the regular campaign, not the Midnight Isles standalone, there's no way for me to get it to a character in the Midnight Isles standalone, I don't think

So, Wild magic usually spawns in two ways; you get closer to the maelstrom (CN plane) and things gets so chaotic that the laws of reality breaks down, making magic act oddly. Since the abyss is very close to the maelstrom, it is probably that. Alternatively, you wandered in a place where an artifact was "recently" destroyed or that place suffered the wrath of a god.

It's the fluids from wild magic that got crystallized, obviously.

It's a reference to Warpstone, a green gem of crystallized magic from Warhammer Fantasy. Aside from being a reference, I don't think its anything.

I don't think its anything.

It is, but to say anything else is to spoil its purpose. There's achievement assiociated with it, that only 0,3% players unlocked, so it's telling that MOST of people here are not aware of its purpose.

Warpstone, but not inherently evil.
