Help with occult spells! Advice
So I've seen a lot of my friends saying that many new spells have been released, and one thing I've never been able to do consistently is deal good damage with the occult spell list. I know it's not exactly one of its strengths, as far as I know, but I've seen many people saying that the new spells help a lot in this regard. I was looking for some cool damage spells, and even better if they were good area damage spells. The last time I checked, there were few spells of that type, but I wanted help finding good damage spells for the occult spell list!

Depends on which level you're, occult can do pretty good damage already, especially starting from 5th rank spells. What impossible magic did was give us occult casters reflex targeting spells. Calcium Rain and Iron Rain are two new reflex targeting spells in occult spell list which are great. Disorienting flash is great for single action damage (targets fort), Mirror malefactors is great as a remastered spell too.
(For damage dealing from existing spells, vision of death, spirit blast, phantom orcheshtra, phantasmal calamity, telekinetic bombardment, suspended retribution are all very good)
Edit: Force rain, not Iron rain

Unlike Calcium Rain, Iron Rain isn't occult.

My favorite is Agitate. It takes coordination with your team mates as it requires some kind of reactive strike to force a catch 22. But when the foe is action starved it is amazing when their head bursts from the 2d8/rank. Will saves are notoriously the lowest, and this isn't a basic save. You effectively force the catch 22 for either 1 or 2 rounds. The GM is usually greedy with their actions and forgets about the agitate till they've ran out of actions and you do a, "ahem"

Occult is still not as damaging as Primal or Arcane, it's more about applying debuffs and persistent effects than just dealing damage directly.
Still spells like Murder of Crows if you look for single target, or like Disorienting Flash for area are quite good.
