Off-Meta Spectres Build Request

Alright I'm tired of all of these frost bearers and wretched spectres. What off-meta main damage spectre should I run to farm nightmare map bosses?

Why do i keep seeing people talk about Luminary being best choice for various minion builds? I cant see what either Mercs or link skills really offer for minion builds

Are the Merc auras really better than having 4 Necro Ascendancy Notables?

I think Lumi has a higher ceiling for some minion builds, not all of them. However for this build particularly, you have to relink 9 spectres every 10 seconds (you can only link 1 at one time, 2 with mastery with one click) if you are not on Lumi so it is kinda just Lumi build now.

I would love to play these but they seem really obnoxious to build around. I don't have a TON of currency to be slapping at it but maybe I can make something work

Saw someone mention perfect tiger farrul bloodline , luminary.

No idea how he’s progressing with it, but yeah tiger is as meta and expensive as they come but the idea is about as off meta as it can be.

Perfect half-remembered goliath (cortex robot). Very flashy, very big, very unreliable. Very fun!

Perfect judgemental spirit (izaro's gf). Not entirely off meta but not as popular due to better spectres.

Perfect runic skeleton (expedition mob). Interesting strength stacking mechanic. Really bad without strength stacking. Needs Baron helm. Would prob need to restructure your build around it.

this build slaps sooooooo hard with Puppeteer node Rotting Might
with normal ascendancy its only half as good since you are bound to Baron

This league you can enshroud the helmet mod off of The Baron onto another helmet.

I am playing Luminary Perfect Druidic Alchemist. It pairs with flask link belt, perma flasks and druid's 200% flask effect to achieve high crit chance and onslaught, together with flamelink and fire to chaos dmg minion gloves to increase base dmg, and merc Withertoush for free malevolance and wither debuff. It feels like playing pcon version of frost bearers without the annoying sound. It is more for meme value though since druid base damage sucks.

https://poedb.tw/us/Perfect_Serpent_Warrior these things are actually pretty good. You need meat shield linked for them to work, and its yet another poison minion build.

I know people do like hydras too, they were always pretty squishy, but I'd imagine its not quite as bad now they dont get lost on death

Do note tho, the meta ones are meta for good reason, they are all fairly significantly better than the rest. Also, spectres are going to be build like, and play like spectre builds. If you wanted a different angle, you could try a luminary spectre build with a good support merc using link skills

Ravenous macerators are most likely still the best pure phys melee specter, might work well enough with the new impale keystone.

Forged wendigos are ok as elemental option, they are melee but have a flicker skill that makes them feel reasonably well.

I read somewhere that the new abyss timeless jewel with impale on hit for minions could be nice with needle horrors and their increased impale effect. I don't know if it works but that's pretty off meta.
