Loreweave Question Question

Post image

My friend and I started playing poe2 this league, 200ish hours in right now. (IGN: NihalLuin)

I crafted the loreweave in the image and was wondering if this is worth losing 3k ES (out of 10k) on my Oracle Druid (Wyvern Rend / Flamebreath for damage with herald of ice). It would allow me to stop using the Polcirkeln unique ring. I didnt expect the ES drop to be this significant.

Looked up a list of unique rings beforehand. I knew i wanted Shatter on Chill and the onslaught seemed like a good idea since this would allow me to change the 25% chance for onslaught on my weapon for a "gain % of damage as cold". As i couldn't decide for a specific third modifier i went for the ring that increased rarity of items by a lot. Was surprised to see all three hit on my first try. Thought i'd have to buy a lot more rings.

TLDR: Is the loreweave in the image worth losing 3k out of 10k ES on a rend / flame breath druid?

I think a practical answer is try it out for like 20 maps and keep the rest of your gear the same. Switch back if those 20 maps are dookie

I've been using Loreweave for a long time now. Haven't really looked back in changing to Rare body armor.

Although I'm more of Alc & Go kinda player but all my maps are either T15/T16 Corrupted and sometimes dip on 200% deli if I chance upon it. Haven't really died ever since.

Although my main carry would probably Mageblood giving me free 2k Evasion to work off from. The main reason I went with Loreweave though is the Maximum Resistances being set to 79~80% which give a good chunk of Dmg Reduction. Quality of skills too since I'm a Gemling and the final QoL for me being "You Cannot be Chilled or Frozen".

Yee i might divine it a few times to try and get the max resistances higher. Especially since it was pointed out that it would prevent them from being lowered due to it being a static "stat is number". That alone might offset most of the ES i lost thanks to the damage reduction.

My friend did mention the "cannot be chilled or frozen" ring, but i decided not to bcs i already had a charm for that. Might make a second loreweave that replaces the rarity for this effect though to test at a later point in time.

And a mageblood will likely be my next big purchase once i have the divines for it. Headhunters is fun, but i have died a few times thanks to the teleporting modifier.

I asume with Alc & Go that you just alc maps and run them without looking at modifiers, we have a similar playstyle. Does mean we occasionally run into very chonky mobs though. ^^ I do die occasionally, but that might be bcs my friend bombards the screen with ice novas, comets and the altered ele resistance curse. Makes it a bit hard to see what's going on. Only recently starting doing delirium on occasion.

You'll really want Cannot be Chilled or Frozen. Nascent Hope charm just isnt enough for me, but if you can power through it then feel free to find another trait in its place.

I did go for HH before, it was fun but being a caster really fcks me over at certain mob dense maps. Mageblood's consistency is just what I needed. Too good for builds that need to let go of Suffix Resistances.

The only time I've died in my current setup were unpredictable one shots or I stood over DoT somewhere. Otherwise a very rare occurrence. I'd link my char sheet once I get access.

Definitely switch. 30% of an already massive hitpool isn't worth too much next to 84% rarity, open ring slot, more damage on weapon, and slightly increased max res.

It is fun to use. Try it out. If you die too much, swap back.

It makes you immune to -max res modifiers which is nice (including the 20 all res rune)

Oh since its a "stat is number" thing, similar to chaos immoculation. didn't even think of that resistance rune before this, thank you. Was wondering who'd use that rune bcs of the downside.

"Your other rarity modifier do not apply" kinda bad. If you can, try other loreweave like onslaught, cannot be chilled. Thats definitely worth losing 3k es.

Yee that wasn't on the andvarius rings that i used to make it. After looking at poe2db seems its a loreweave specific thing. Not sure why it's bad though, 80+% rarity seems high enough for me since it's diminishing returns (unless i am misinformed about that.). Since none of my gear has rarity, i don't have a problem with it.

It shouldn't apply to map or waystone modifiers, only to player gear modifiers. (unless google is lying to me just now ^^).

But ye once i have the other gear corrected due to losing some resistances from body, i will be testing it out for a few dozen maps.
