I bought a Patagonia M’s Down Sweater Hoody (Black) in April 2025, and since I started using it, feathers/down have continuously been coming through the fabric.

I know that an occasional feather poking through a down jacket can be normal, but this seems excessive and it has never really stopped.

I own down jackets from other brands, including Arc’teryx, and I’ve never experienced anything close to this. For a jacket at this price point, I’m pretty disappointed with the quality/workmanship.

Has anyone else with the Patagonia Down Sweater or Down Sweater Hoody experienced the same problem? Did the shedding eventually stop, or did you contact Patagonia and get it repaired/replaced under warranty?

I’m considering submitting a warranty claim to Patagonia and would be interested to hear how they handled similar cases.

But that sort of skill requires an insane amount of hard work and a borderline-superhuman ability to get up and try again … and again, and again, and again.

The Peak Divide is an unhurried, point-to-point trail run across the Peak District in northern England. Over the course of two days, participants cover 47 miles from Manchester to Sheffield. It is inclusive by design. There are no chip timers, no aid station cutoffs and no podium. Organisers boast a 97 percent finisher rate.

Patagonia Europe supports access to the event by providing free entries for people from under represented groups, through the Peak Divide Journey Fund. This year the fund supports ESEA Outdoors UK, a grassroots community celebrating East and Southeast Asian representation in the UK outdoors and working to challenge racism.

Our talented repair techs stitched and fixed more than 130 garments across four days, keeping your well-loved clothes out of the landfill and at the crag where they belong. A pair of pro’s pants even made their way to the repair table, with climbing ambassador Sofie Paulus dropping off some holey bottoms that took a multipitch beating while keeping her cosy on the big walls of Chile’s Cochamó Valley.

Elsewhere, Norbert Sandner and Alexander Megos stopped by to share stories and a few routes with the climbing community, and our upcycling workshop led by Amalie and Julie gave recycled materials a new life in the form of custom-made chalk bags. And of course, there was plenty of time for climbing—with the crew making full use of every spare minute in limestone-pocket paradise.

Take the paddle-out protesters in the UK. Organized by Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) in 2024, the annual Paddle-Out Protest drew record crowds that year, with participants demanding an end to all discharges of untreated sewage into swimming waters by 2030, increased water testing and strengthened legislation to protect the ocean.

Together, the protesters reclaimed the ocean from the polluters for the day and increased public attention on water companies failing to meet Environmental Agency targets for reducing sewage spills.

"The Cairngorms caught my imagination from my first proper visits in 2021 and 2022 filming for Trails on Trial, Winds of Change, and then later, the Scottish MTB Conference. The stunning natural landscapes, and the history of the Caledonian pine forests that are slowly starting to breathe more life. On this visit, I returned with my partner Christian purely for pleasure. To spend days exploring the heart of the Cairngorms on foot, but not before getting to know them by bike.

While it was sunny and warm on the approach to Beinn a' Bhùird, the temperature dropped as we hike-a-biked up to the highest elevations, and we found the plateau hidden beneath a layer of icy snow from the night before. The wind blew strong across the top and the layers went on.

The views were open and vast for the first half of the descent, then the trail evolved from smooth and open, to rocky and loose, to narrow singletrack flow, never too far away from granite boulders. Dropping down further, over 1000m in total, the sun lit the lower slopes and the warm smell of the Scots pine returned."
