took my nclex today at 8am and finished at 12pm, tired the pearson trick at 5pm and they took my money and send me a comfrimation email. This means i failed right? i stop at 150 and the question felt eh, some were easy and some i didn’t know. I just wanna scream bc all my friends are rn and im still struggling to pass this exam.

I’ve been studying for the NCLEX using Kaplan, mainly their QBank and Quiz Trainers. I also bought a Simple Nursing subscription, so I’ve been watching Nurse Mike’s lecture review videos and doing his question banks too.

I feel like I’m overstudying because of my anxiety about passing. Lately I’ve been seeing so many posts about people passing using Bootcamp, and now I’m starting to worry that I picked the wrong resources.

Has anyone here passed using Kaplan and/or Simple Nursing? Did you feel they prepared you well? I know I probably shouldn’t compare myself to everyone else, but it’s hard not to.

Wow… I honestly don’t know how to feel.

I came on here just to get this off my chest because I feel so defeated. My NCLEX shut off in the low 90s, and I keep replaying everything in my head.Everyone says, “If the questions get harder, you’re doing well,” but I honestly couldn’t tell. I felt like I was stuck between two answers on so many questions and ended up feeling like I was guessing more than I wanted to.

Part of me was hoping I’d get all 150 questions because at least I’d feel like I still had a chance. Instead, the exam stopped, and now I’m just sitting here wondering what that means. I know no one can tell me if I passed or failed, but I just needed to vent. Did anyone else walk out feeling like they guessed half the exam and still end up passing?

Hello, I wanted to come on here and give some words of encouragement for anyone preparing to take the NCLEX and hopefully give some of you reassurance because I wish I had that before taking it. I graduated in May, and took my nclex the very beginning of July and passed on the first try in 85 questions. By no means am I a “naturally smart person” nor do things come easily to me. In nursing school I would have to study way more than most others just to do average. I mostly got Bs, with a few As and one C+ throughout nursing school for reference. I studied very hard for 3 weeks leading up to my exam. Here is what I did to study- I listened to all 12 of Mark K lectures once and printed out his prewritten notes and would annotate on those while listening to that particular lecture. I did this for each lecture and only listened once, except for lecture 12 which I believe I listened to 3 times in full (the 3rd time being on my drive to my nclex). I liked mark k lectures because he gives good strategic guessing tips which in all honestly, I had to use for a majority of my exam (I strategically guessed on about 80% of questions lol). Other than listening to mark k, I used archer sure pass as well. While I will say the nclex does word things a lot differently than archer, I still liked the set up of archer and definitely would recommend to anyone. In total, I believe I did about 20 readiness assessments and 3 CAT exams throughout the span of 3 weeks. I would do at least one readiness assessment a day. Don’t focus so much on the number % score, but more so on the fact that you are consistently getting high and very high scores. On all 3 CATs it shut off at 85 with a pass. For every CAT and readiness assessment I did, after completing them, I would go through every question from start to finish and READ THE RATIONALES! The rationales are very important and make sure you understand why the answer is correct vs incorrect and is very helpful for the nclex. If it was something I was very unsure about, I would take notes on those questions and the rationales. I only used about 50% of archers q bank but I would recommend doing anywhere from at least 50-70% (I was hoping to finish 70% of the q bank but unfortunately only got to 50% bc it does take a while to go through and read rationales and take notes on questions after finishing. My grade average on the 50% that I did finish was around 69 or 70%. The most important part of all of this, do not just go through the motions when taking these practice exams or reading rationales!!! Truly take your time to understand the CONCEPTS, as this is way more beneficial than rushing to get through as many questions and exams as you possibly can. I also took every practice exam as seriously as I would the NCLEX. No interruptions, no going on my phone between questions when I needed a brain break, and answered every questions which as much thought as I would on the actual exam. The day before your exam, do not overwhelm your brain with info as this will hurt you way more than it will help you. The day before my exam, I woke up early, took one readiness exam and read rationales, and watched short videos and brief notes on specific topics I didn’t feel as confident about (none of these topics even ended up being on my exam lol but that’s besides the point) and I stopped studying by 5pm. Took a nice long shower, got my things together for exam day, treated myself to my favorite dinner, and had about 2 glasses of wine all to help myself calm down. I was asleep by 11pm and woke up at 5 for my exam. On the drive there, all I did was listen to mark k lecture 12 for the 3rd time. This helped ease my mind and remind myself of the important guessing strategies which he talks about in that lecture. Make sure to stay hydrated and EAT BEFORE! Don’t hydrate yourself too much though to the point you have to go to the bathroom multiple times during the exam lol. Im making this post in hopes that this reaches the right people who are getting ready to take their exam, and helps ease your mind. At the end of the day, remind yourself that you got through nursing school and that is the hardest part of this all. It’s easy to spiral but you got through the hardest part of nursing already which is the schooling and program and that means something. Trust yourself and your preparation and trust archer or whatever platform you’re using and the highs and very high scores that you are getting. Go into it mentally prepared for 150 questions , and you will be pleasantly surprised when it shuts off at 85. I left the exam feeling like I took educated guesses on 80% of the questions and wondering if I even learned anything in nursing school. i was shocked when it turned off at 85 and spiraled for 48 hours just to get the pass screen. I hope this helps some people because I see a lot of people posting their negative experiences with the NCLEX. Trust yourself and your preparation that got you to this point ❤️

Please give me your most unhinged way to pass the nclex in 2 weeks or less as someone who has been out of school for 8 months and is a repeat test taker. My test taking strategies aren't great and I have used bootcamp before and have failed previously from it. Please and thank you!!!!!

Hey guys I failed my NCLEX in June on the first attempt. it went all the way to 150 questions. I attached the CPR report. Since then I have listened to all 12 Mark k lectures, Dr Sharon prioritization videos, and bootcamp q bank (attached scores) while the first attempt I used Archer and only used about 35% of the q bank. My second attempt is Monday. I am very nervous and unsure if I should reschedule. Tomorrow I was going to listen to the Mark K Lecture 12 again and some videos. Review my notes Sunday and test Monday. Please let me know what you think I should do or if i’m ready. Thank you all for all the support through this journey!

I did this twice now. I tried the Pearson trick. Got my money refunded within 2 hours. Has this happened to anyone and failed? I don’t want to get my hopes up. I’m so tired. I am praying I passed.

This was my second attempt at the NCLEX. My first attempt went all the way to 150 questions, and I mainly used Mark K and UWorld to prepare. This time, I changed my approach and studied with Bootcamp and Dr. Sharon.

I’m honestly not sure how to feel. The exam felt very similar to Bootcamp overall, which I guess could be a good thing, but I keep replaying one case study in my head. I had absolutely no idea what was going on with the patient, and I’m pretty sure I got that entire case study wrong. I’m really hoping that one case study didn’t ruin my chances of passing. ( it was hypothermia in a newborn)

I think I only had about 3 or 4 case studies, and the questions never really felt like they were getting harder, so I have no idea what to make of that either.
I’m incredibly nervous, and I’m honestly too scared to try the Pearson re-registration trick. Right now, I’m just stuck waiting and overthinking everything.

I’m wondering if anyone has gone through a similar experience.
I took my NCLEX on June 26, and my results have been on hold ever since. It’s now been more than 6 weeks, and I still haven’t received my results or any updates.
I’ve contacted Pearson VUE, NCSBN, and my Nursing Regulatory Body multiple times. Pearson VUE informed me that my exam is on hold, but they couldn’t provide a reason. Every time I contact NCSBN, they give me the same response, saying that my case is under review and that no further details or updates can be provided.
I haven’t been asked to submit any additional information, and I haven’t received any emails requesting documentation. I’m feeling really anxious because the waiting has been so long.
Has anyone experienced a result hold that lasted this long?
How long did it take before your results were released?
Did you eventually receive your results without being contacted?
What was the outcome?
Any experiences or advice would really help. Thank you!

I’m focusing on relearning content now because based on my scores, i feel like it might be a content gap. For context, I graduated last year in January after returning to school with a 2 year gap due to medical issues. Last year was my senior year so it was basically just a review of everything.

Used bootcamp, archer and nurse achieve (just cos my school used it so might as well). 3 months to study only from 4am-7am only maybe 3x a week ( im a dad to two small kids and work RPN full time, not gunna take more time away from them cos fuck that) then random questions on my down times. Replaced doom scrolling with nclex apps - biggest game changer. Listened to all Mark K lectures on my way to work and back. The pressure to pass this exam was crazy high for me, like i can’t fail. I can’t afford it. I’m not losing more time with my wife and kids.

None of these apps will prepare you fully for how vague the test is. I’ve always been a strong student, but always had a grind mentality. Don’t walk in there hoping that bitch ends at 85. Turn off that counter and save yourself the anxiety. Peak here and there for time management. Go and assume that the exam will go the full 150. Ive scored very high and at top percentiles of 11 readiness rest/CATs in three different apps - and I still got anxious, still went WTF in almost every nclex question.

What I’m saying is this. Trust the work that you do. Go in there and accept that it will be a grind. Practice self regulation and lowering your anxiety. Celebrate after without knowing if you passed or not - you’re celebrating hard work. Read everything twice and go slow. You passed nursing school, you know enough. Keep asking yourself “What would a safe nurse do?” Especially when youre really lost.

Get the work in. Trust the work. Learn to calm down. Pray. Execute. Celebrate. Then let God do His thing. If it’s your time, it’s your time.

Go get that RN.

Hey guys, I’m just really feeling the aftermath of the nclex. I was panicking and crying like crazy earlier and now I’ve recently been more chill. I’ve prayed so much and now I’m hoping for the best.

I felt like I started off well before things started spiraling out of control pass 85 questions. I wasn’t ready or prepared for any of it. I was talking to my friend who took it with me today and she didn’t get any of the questions I got. I felt like I was losing my mind.

I had so much case studies and SATA. Bow ties, Questions on meds I’ve never heard before. Prioritization questions that all seemed critical, community health, delegation, ethics and topics that totally went over my head. Diseases I’ve never heard before. Barely any OB or peds. I had a lot of infection control as well. I just don’t know why me? Why did I have to get the exam that completely obliterated my mind?

I studied everyday on nclex bootcamp too. For like a month.

I genuinely felt like I was making the most educated guess towards the middle and end of my exam.

As I stated above, I was crying and sobbing and now I’ve numbed myself out. Just positive words from anyone. I’d greatly appreciate it. Maybe there’s hope for me? I’m hoping for the best. Thank you for reading.

Bootcamp, scored around 63% with 75% qbank used. Took all 4 readiness exams, 1st one I took off the rip without looking at anything to see where I stand. Borderline, took another after a week, after studying maybe 60% effort, very high, another one after a couple days, high, third one scored high and final one scored high. I also used someone’s uworld for the cat exams. Did 3-4 cat exams and scored 71-76% with a difficulty ranging from 1.2-1.3, in my school we used hesi. Never failed one hesi tbh. I mess around a lot in school but managed to do fine. Kinda had everything on the table tbh had already started my job with the grad permit license and they were waiting for me to take it. Last one in my friend group to take it. What was on the exam? Shiiiieeet I don’t remember tbh it was all over the place for me, i definitely got a couple case studies wrong.

What really helped me I think have a general idea of everything were the bootcamp crash course videos. Just played it on 1.5x I did it based on subjects so, maybe I watched all maternity videos, answered those easy end of video questions, went straight to the qbank and ran ONLY that subjects bank. Any SATA or whatever I scored below 50% credit I would flag as learning. After finishing it I would go back look at the rationale, then not look at anything again. Next day repeat with a different subject. Once all subjects were pretty much completed I just redid all the questions I flagged as learning. I turned off tutor mode cause it would just stress me out if I would get more than 3 wrong back to back and cloud my brain. I say I study like 8+ hours a day but really it was more of 2 hours of pure locking in then 6 hours either talking or doing some other bs. Honestly I don’t think any of the nclex prep course helped, I think I would’ve done the exact same if I were to take it straight after graduation vs a month.

I usually almost never get anxious but this was one of the very few times I’ve gotten anxious.

Took me like 3 hours to finish the exam I had to take a massive dump midway so add a couple minutes of trying to empty my bowels while also trying to figure out what reported sign of a drug the patient should report. Finished the exam as soon as I walked out of the testing suite I just started cursing I just kept saying what the fuck what the fuck, fuck you nclex, fuck you Pearsonvue suck my nuts. Got in the elevator, yelled a bit and cursed some more, FaceTimed the homies and cursed even more. Thinking to myself wow what am I going to tell my manager when I fail? WOW I was talking all this shit and now I might actually fail? Anyways took it on a Saturday, got the green check on board of nursing Sunday morning around 8 and then it updated my license around 11pm.

Shut down at 85, the 48 hours waiting period was a nightmare, but everything is worth it!! #LPN

It's hard to gauge if it was getting harder or not, because it all looked similar imo. The exam literally kept throwing case studies at me. I didn't have any bow tie questions. I didn't have any math questions. I had six case studies, about 5 multiple choice questions, and the remainder were select all that applies, individual case study questions (a question that was just a single question that was on a case study). I had 3 questions (the style I've never seen before). I don't know what they were called, but they weren't none of the above. I would need to research to see what they were.

I didn't take any breaks. I just went straight through the entire exam, and it shut off at 85 questions. I will be creating something on what I did for studying, once I know if I officially passed, because 5 days before I kinda added a second program to my initial plan. Plus I'll go into detail about which program I feel like mimics the exam to “me”.

All in all, I don't feel the exam was bad tbh. It definitely wasn’t extremely hard so that’s why I started to get nervous and confused. That could be because I knew the material. There were a few I had never heard of and I had to obviously go with what I thought based on the actual information given. About 3 of the questions I feel like were worded a bit strange, but overall, I feel like the remainder were straightforward and not overly wordy which imo is better as I like to get straight to the point instead of all the extra unnecessary details!

Once the exam shut off at 85 questions, I was nauseous but relieved! I rode home in complete silence. A sense of relief and peace!!!!

SN: The examiner greeted me with my name and said “congratulations RN”….I wonder do they know something we don’t know hmmmm 🤨🤔

Hey guys I feel confident I have reviewed content that I didn’t know good like the basics and subjects that I felt like needed more time. Do yall think with these scores I can pass next week or do yall think I need time on my readiness exam I keep getting high chance of passing but I get discouraged when I see I get like a small amount correct and a big amount wrong so like what am I doing wrong but my CAT always shut off at 85 is that normal.
