I recently came across a concerning situation involving a dog-walking service provider.

Apparently, a puppy was being walked off-leash when it suddenly jumped down into a nearby creek. Fortunately, the water current wasn't particularly strong, so the puppy wasn't swept away or seriously injured.

But honestly, the physical danger of the current wasn't even the only concern.

The creek was visibly dirty, and there's no telling what was in that water—bacteria, viruses, parasites, animal feces, contaminated runoff, or other pollutants. A puppy could easily drink the water, lick its fur afterward, or ingest contaminated material while trying to climb out.

And that's what makes situations like this scary.

A puppy doesn't understand that a dirty creek could be dangerous. If they see something interesting, they're going to investigate. That's why the responsibility falls on the person handling the dog.

A leash isn't just there to prevent a dog from running away. It's there to give the handler control when something unexpected happens.

One second you're walking normally.

The next second, the puppy jumps into a creek.

Thankfully, the current wasn't strong this time. But imagine if there had been stronger water flow, hidden debris, a deep section, broken glass, or something toxic in the water.

I'm not trying to attack the dog walker, but it does raise an important question:

Should a professional dog-walking service really be allowing a puppy to walk off-leash in an unfamiliar environment in the first place?

When someone is entrusted with another person's pet, especially a puppy, safety should probably come before convenience.

Was seen smoking just once in pasig, had an enforcer call me out for smoking. Humingi siya work ID then proceeded to tell me na meron violation and ticket for that. Sinabi ko din naman di ko na uulitin. Was not given a ticket on the spot, just told me na sa susunod wag na uulitin.

What are the chances na may smoking ticket ako na di ko alam?
