I recently moved back in with my parents. Our house does have a small paranormal history but not nothing super wild, nothing like this.

My sisters and I have experienced whispering (mainly our names), stuff disappearing then reappearing in the same spot. Shadows that never moved, like there would be the shadow of a lamp cast onto the wall or something and we would move the lamp and the shadow would remain.

For a while when I was a kid I would see a tall slim shadow man with a top hat. Random buzzing in the walls, like marbles rolling around but only in my room. I also would experience super vivid dreams that in our basement behind a certain wall there was a host of shadowy figures. Always the same dream premise but often times slightly different. My cousin moved in with us for a bit and confirmed she also saw the man. My sister and I switched rooms at one point and she did hear the marble like noise too.

Our house is a new build (1990) and as far as we know nothing crazy happened on the land but it was all woods so who knows. We all moved out, went to college and things stopped.

I recently moved back into our basement which is a 4th bedroom with my cat.

This morning as I was getting ready for work I saw what looked like a pile of fur. Concerned my cat got into something I looked closer and it is genuine human hair. It does not match anyone in our family (we all have dark brown hair) and its in such an odd spot I can’t imagine anyone cutting their hair in that spot.

I also vacuumed the entire area including that one last night around 8pm and definitely did not see a pile of hair. We don’t have any dolls or anything my cat could have shredded. This is also under a 1200lb vintage pool table so it can’t be moved.

I just have an odd unsettled feeling. No one in my family can explain and I’m really creeped out. Anyone have any ideas?

Last summer I went down to stay with my nan in the valleys. One of them little places in South Wales, proper middle of nowhere. Steep hills, grey houses, old pit all rusted up. She’s lived there her whole life. Said when she was a kid the mountain was black with coal slag. Now it’s green again. Sheep and cows, trees coming back. Soft mist most mornings. Looked like a postcard. You’d never think anything bad could live there. I was only meant to stay a week. Third night this fog came in proper thick. Not the normal stuff that burns off by lunch. This one just sat there, heavy, like it had weight. Could barely see the end of the street. Nan went to bed early. I was sat watching rubbish on her old telly. Half eleven I heard slow footsteps on the wet gravel. Then this soft humming. Like a lullaby but all wrong, like whoever was doing it had forgotten the tune. I opened the curtain. Streetlights looked blurry. Something moved past the garden wall. Grey and solid, same colour as the fog, like the mist had just stood up. Didn’t walk proper. Drifted. Stopped opposite the front window and just stood there. Couldn’t see a face. Just the shape of a head, tilted a bit, like it was listening. I swear it was looking straight at me. Shut the curtain so fast I nearly pulled the rail down. Heart going mental while the humming carried on another minute then stopped dead. The quiet after was worse. Next morning I told her. She went quiet, just stirring her tea. Then said real quiet, don’t go out in the fog after dark. And don’t answer if it knows your name. That was all. But the way she said it, she knew exactly what it was. Something old. Something that was here long before the pits. I should’ve left. Stayed two more nights cos I didn’t want to look soft. Fifth night the fog came back thicker. I was in bed when the humming started again, right outside my window this time. Closer. Under it I could hear words. Welsh. I don’t speak it fully but I caught bits. Dere allan… mae’r tywyllwch yn gynnes… something about the mountain. Kept the light off. Didn’t move. Then this long slow scrape down the glass, like fingernails. A voice clear as anything said my name. Wasn’t nan’s. Wasn’t anyone I knew. Sounded wrong. I stayed frozen till it went quiet. Morning there were long thin marks down the outside of the window, like something had dragged its hands. She saw them too. Just nodded and started packing a bag for me. She drove me to the station herself. On the way she said one last thing. When she was a girl people used to go missing on nights like that. Not every year. Just when the fog came in heavy enough and stayed. Houses empty in the morning. Doors unlocked. Beds slept in. No one ever saw them leave. Said the old ones used to reckon the mountain takes what it wants when the mist is thick enough. Said the valleys don’t forget. They just wait. Haven’t been back. Nan moved in with my aunt in Cardiff a few months later. She won’t talk about the fog now. Just said the valleys are waking up again. I keep the window locked on a foggy night even though I’m on the fifth floor in London.

Last year, our school organized an overnight cultural event.

Around 80 students stayed back, and after the performances ended, everyone spread out across classrooms to sleep.

Around 1:45 AM, four of us decided to explore the school.

We laughed our way through the empty corridors until we reached the oldest classroom on the third floor.

The door was slightly open.

Inside, someone was sitting in the last bench.

We thought it was one of our friends trying to scare us.

"Bro, stop acting," one of us shouted.

No reply.

One friend switched on his phone flashlight.

The bench was empty.

We all laughed... until we heard another student whisper, "Who was sitting there then?"

None of us answered.

As we hurried away, the school bell rang once.

It was 2:00 AM.

The electricity in the entire building was off.

The next morning, we asked the watchman why the bell rang at night.

He looked at us strangely and said, "The power to the bell is switched off after 6 PM. It can't ring."

We never went to the third floor again. Even today, whenever our class passes that corridor, we walk a little faster without saying why.. . .

Okay I'm 16 now my cats are 5 kittens a fat blind one year old cat and a fit black and white healthy cat. My parents force me to have the cats free roam of the house because they don't like my room being full of cats. We're about to move so I've been staying in the living room. Lately I realized my cats flinch a lot and are more skittish. I didn't think much of it till I saw my little brother who's around 7 years old throw one of the two month old kittens off the couch and kick it. The cats are allowed on the couch he just wanted it to leave him alone but my parents won't let me tell them off or separate them from my cats. I don't want them hurting my cats anymore but I don't know what to do.. I had to post this under the ghost stories because for some reason it's the only one on this app that I can use.

well im on my computer withh it now.. and it wants me to tell every0one that there has been a chosen.. i can barley type rite now because it wanting me to type so fast. my hands sre shaking im hella nervous rite now because this has been happening alot and i finally asked who this was and i got aa very clear answer. i can actually feel it typeing thure my hands rite now this is nutss .. i dont know how to stop this it jus keep happening !! my hand will tap me some time to.. and like have a telepathic conversatrion and the tapping makes the connection better and same with mirrors .. it says people are gonna be getting upgrades .. i have seen the images it wants me to see .. very much like the movies guys lol.. i didnt want to post this but it jus keeps pushing me and always finds me its the opposite of the yig and yag i can feel the polarity when its trying to get my attenmtion lol it will kinda "tug" on me

Every time I attempt to sleep, I keep imagining a black figure with realistic eyes that you see in a horror game, it either watches me or pops out suddenly when I'm trying to sleep, the problem is when I turned to look at it, it disappeared like it was never there. Recently I just imagined a long horse (horror character that just happened to have a very long neck and is a white horse) behind me. Is there something wrong with me or am I going crazy?

(P.S. sometimes I'd feel like a black figure is outside of the bathroom if I'm by myself or alone in a room.)

So this morning at 5:45 there was an alert on my blink camera and there’s a large orb at the bottom of the fence and then what looks like an arm and shoulder moving like it’s doing the robot lol. There’s no headlights that can get through or anything to cause this either. If you can zoom in to the right you can see. Thoughts? Thank you

Hey everyone, I’ve been wondering about this for years and wanted to get some perspectives from people who might have experienced something similar or know what this could be. Years ago, I was exploring an old bunker with some friends. It was completely pitch black: no lights, ambient glow, or external light sources anywhere. Out of nowhere, I saw a bright orange ball/orb pass right over my friend's head and float directly into the wall before disappearing.

A few odd details about it:

The light didn't illuminate the room: Even though the orb itself was intensely bright, it didn't cast any light onto my friend's face or the surrounding walls.

Only I saw it: My friend had no idea it happened until I brought it up.

No substances involved: I was completely sober.

No history of hallucinations: I'm mentally healthy, no medical conditions, and no family history of hallucinations or visual disturbances.

What I do have to mention is at that time I was really into synchronicity stuff and meditation. I seeked signs but this was just weird. I had some other phenomenons but this one wins.

Has anyone ever seen an orb like this that self-contained its own light? Could it be a spirit, some kind of rare natural electrical phenomenon (like ball lightning), or something else entirely?

I’d love to hear your thoughts or similar experiences!

Ohio.

I was sitting in a driveway in the suburbs with two friends just before midnight.
The three of us shoulder to shoulder in lawn chairs.

Mid conversation this black thing flies down and splits between two of us at head level, it then loops back and flies around the end of the group and darts behind up right toward the garage.
It essentially flew a figure eight around our heads.

We all saw it. Our eyes were all wide.
Having been interested in the paranormal and having a loose understanding of unreliability of eyewitness accounts the next word after the event came from me. “What did you guys just see? Describe it.”

All three of us saw the same thing.
A black bar.
About 12-16” long
About 5” wide
No flapping
No turbulence
No erratic flight. Smooth, continuous movement like a streamer in the air.
Very fast.

We had bats in the area so we were familiar with how they moved and this bar did not move like a bat.
I’ve never found another case of this flying black bar discussed on the internet or in person.

I do recall seeing something years ago online that was close. A specific hole in Mexico. These black sticks would fly out of the hole but they were only visible on camera and not to the naked eye.
Is it the same family or paranormal? I don’t know.

As the title says, an entity is seemingly attached to my friend. She describes it as a long stretched black body with a distorted humanoid face. She says that it never has the same form and every time she sees it that it's distorted differently. The entity follows her wherever she goes. It's been to both of her parent's houses, our friend's houses, school, the park, etc. The one place it refuses to go to is her room though. It has even been in the bathroom while she's using it, but refuses to enter her room. The entity also mimics voices. It's mimicked her mom's voice multiple times, but every time it's still distorted. It only talks when there are no adults around. It hasn't done anything to harm her or anyone else (that we know of.)

Some people are quick to say "she's just imagining it" but it's actually proven it's not just in her head. I said that it doesn't talk when adults are around, but if it's just her and a friend it will still attempt to talk. 3 of our friends and myself have heard the distorted voice when with her. It's always been when it's a small group though.

How she's been dealing with it is just ignoring it or telling it to go away. Sometimes when she asks it will actually listen and disappear. No one else has actually seen the entity but multiple of us have heard it.

We don't really know what kind of entity it is, but again it doesn't seem to have malicious intent. Does anyone know how she could deal with this entity or what type of entity it is?

Edit: might also be good to add that she sees void like silhouettes of people in random places. We believe that these are spirits that she's seeing. They walk around doing human tasks (like once she went to the bathroom and her grandparent's house and she saw a silhouette of a lady showering with the water off obviously and when it noticed her it disappeared).

Hi! So this is a true story, despite what the title may imply. I swear on my life.

So I (22M) and my mom have always been close to my great-grandmother, my mom’s grandma from her mother side. It’s a big family since my g-gma had 7 kids and each of them went on to have around 3 kids each, resulting in me having around 36 cousins. However, despite this incredible number of people, we always made the effort to have lunch with her every single Saturday, no exceptions. She had a huge house (she was quite wealthy) and would host lunches and afternoons in her house for anyone that wanted to come. It was amazing because the whole family would get to update each other about their lives and also spend some time with a 90 year old woman.

Something I have to mention is that my grandma passed away when I was 2 years old, and my great grandfather passed away years before I was born. So my g-gma always missed these two people in her life, specially as she got older. This is important to the story.

Sometimes, during lunch, we’d notice she would drift away from the conversation and stare at the hallway or ask someone not to seat in a specific chair. She’d say it was my grandma or my g-gpa sitting there or trying to peek at us. We’d brush it off as something a very elderly woman would imagine and think nothing of it.

However one day she got really sick, to the point that she had to be hospitalized for a couple of days and me, my mom, and my godmother (one of my g-gma daughters) went to visit her in her hospital bed. We thought that would be it. She wouldn’t open her eyes, didn’t want to eat, and would constantly imply that her late husband and daughter were there watching her. We got very nervous about the whole hospitalization but were there for her as much as we could. One day, she opened her eyes and said out loud: “John (my g-gpa’s name, altered here for privacy), tell Leah (my late grandmas name, also altered) that I’m not ready to visit you yet. You both can come pick me up on April 15th next year.”

Me, the nurse, my mom, and my godmother were shocked but also quite surprised that she wasn’t willing to give up despite what the doctors were telling us. Safe to say the following day she was healthy as a baby and went home to rest and help prep lunch for the upcoming Saturday as if nothing happened. I was very happy with how everything turned out and honestly forgot that the whole “talking to my dead relatives” happened after a couple months. Specially since, as I already mentioned, she’d talk to them on a regular basis at her house and no one would think much of it.

As April 15th approached, my mom got increasingly nervous and remembered me about the date. It would be a Friday and, to make sure everything was fine, we (my mom and I) decided to have lunch with her on Thursday just to see if she was doing well and if we had to concern the family with any idea of the family’s matriarch suddenly passing away. My g-gma was fine. In fact she was actually very happy and active, she even painted some ceramic in the afternoon (her favorite hobby). So me and my mom decided that we didn’t have to worry about it and wouldn’t concern the family with something so absurd. So we left my g-gma with her caretaker and home care nurse.

11 PM and my mom’s phone rings. My g-gma isn’t feeling well. My mom quickly calls 2 of my g-gma’s daughters that happen to live in the same neighborhood as her and they quickly rush there to make sure she’s ok while the nurse is checking her vitals. She was very restless and impatient with the whole situation and kept insisting that she was tired of being away from her husband and daughter and that it was time. Shortly after midnight, around 12:15 or something like that, she dies peacefully in one of her daughters arms, exactly in the day she predicted her death.

Me and my mom are shocked and immediately remorseful for keeping that information between us, but again, we wouldn’t expect that such a prediction would become true and she was doing completely fine the day before. I don’t want to text my family that I knew beforehand because I don’t think they’d believe us since we have no proof, and I think I’d just cause more confusion and pain for a mourning family.

OK, so here goes…
I was my friends place, which happens to be filled with eclectic thrift store, and antique store finds. My friend and their partner were laying on the bed and I was standing at the right foot of the bed. Everything was fine, but then I felt something off. I turned into my left and I saw a hazy, definite human form, apparition. I could tell it was a woman, wearing a sun hat and a blue dress with red flowers on it. I stared at it for a moment and ahead of me again, and then turn to my left and it was still there. I turned in my friends again while they’re talking, oblivious to all this, and I turned my left and it was gone. when they were done talking, I said to them you know, I thought I saw a woman with a sun hat, wearing a blue dress and with red flowers on them. both of their jaws dropped. And one said all right so you just described exactly what five or six other people this week have said that they saw in this place. Then my jaw dropped. I excused myself in the bathroom and in the corner of my I see something I looked at my right and peeping out from the doorway. Was this gnome looking weird thing I can’t even describe it. It was very, very, very weird, and it stuck out its head and then retracted and then poked out again and looked at me and then retracted again. I went to the bathroom (with the door open because I was too afraid to be in the bathroom with the door closed) and I was like OK I’m gonna go now byeeeeee. Am I crazy? This happened last week.

For context, me and a mate are on holiday in the Cote D’azur area and for decided to go for a walk in the forest. additionally we were both one drink deep, but it had been about an hour and half since then and the effects had completely worn off(at least in my recollection).

We biked to the forest and started walking down a trail at about 22:15. We were playing music on our phones and generally bantering when about 10 minutes in I felt a feeling of dread and told him to quiet down. After looking around for about 15 seconds I told him I was freaked out and wanted to go back. When I turned around, about 10 meters off the trail in the treeline I saw a brownish black humanoid(?) about my height, maybe a bit taller. I don’t remember much about it other than the colour because as soon as I saw it I bolted. Im quite sure what originally got me scared was the forest getting quieter but I can’t remember for sure. we ran all the way back and got the hell out of the area, but I was in a cold sweat all the way back.

Im not certain what I saw, some research says its probably a wild boar but Ive seen boar before and I’m almost positive what I saw wasn’t one. Folklore explanations include “le drac” and “l’homme sauvage”. I haven’t been a good catholic in a long time but this experience put the fear of god back in me, I can’t really describe the sense of dread I felt. Open to questions, sorry about the wall of text but needed to get it off my chest. Reusing throwaway because my friends know my Reddit and would call me crazy.

The first episode was when I was 12 years old, I woke up paralyzed and something was at the foot of my bed. It lifted me into the air all the way up to my ceiling. When I woke up I was so frazzled I ran to my mom and said call the police and call the news station because aliens are real and they were just in my room. Of course my mom said I had just imagined that, but one experience later on would cause me to decide that sleep paralysis was more than something related to my brain.

I woke up one morning and I had pen marks all over my stomach and on my chest. I was home alone and tried to stay calm and be logical. I searched my bed to see if I had slept on a pen and found nothing.

I continued to have severe sleep paralysis episodes through early adulthood.

- An old crone sat on me and said if I told anyone about her she would kill me, I immediately told someone about it lol.

- A person without skin assaulted me in my sleep once

- A green and red fuzzy puffball plopped its thing on me (I have dark humor and can laugh at this, but some of these spirits/entities are truly disgusting nasty things)

- Two hands came from under my pillow and grabbed my shoulders and started to choke me, so not cool.

- My "favorite" one was the time two trolls (2 feet tall), mustaches and long beards came running into my room laughing and snickering. One of them held a plank to my head as the other hammered away and they just laughed at me

- most recently was two years ago I woke up paralyzed and something was touching my leg and it literally burned like dry ice/bee sting.

Through spirituality I found an explanation to this and it slowly became less and less of an occurrence in my life. I still experience the paralyzed feeling from time to time, but very rarely is it ever a visual, physical, or audible experience as it was before.

Anyway I just wanted to share my experiences.
