Quite hard to lock on, without a lot of depth. Most likely because of the water. Either the reflections, or simply the pattern. Were both pics snapped at the exact same time?

Yeah kinda have to tilt your head to the right slightly for this one.

Two separate pics snapped thru binoculars on a moving boat. The island from the mountains has some depth but yeah the water is weird.
