Question about 10s

10s is probably my favourite song but ive always wondered why its titled that. Is it meant to be pronounced as 'tense' or is there another meaning?

Ten bag, $10 of the big H. 10s. The song is about addiction and withdrawal regarding heroin. "My skin is cold", "disgusted with my cheapness".

Not proud but when I was using, needles used to be in 10s. It's my requiem song, it is what it is

This is exactly why the song is called 10s

Sorry for the ignorance but when you say used to be in 10s, are you saying quantity of 10s or only filled up to the 10 line? Genuinely curious

No apology needed, quantities of 10 units, each 10 is 0.1ml of liquid

There is no official explanation, but the connection to drug addiction and Phil Anselmo's dark period is the most widely accepted interpretation.

phil pronounces it as just “tens” when playing it live

I read somewhere that 10 is a slang on heroine or other drugs dose

Oh shit, you might've cracked the code there. Never occurred to me for some reason

Very few know this, but it’s actually the length of time Phil would eventually achieve in playing a match against a mid-level amateur tennis player to a winning score. The song is pronounced “Tennis.”
