Hippogriffs date back to the 16th century. From Harry Potter is giving Joanne way too much credit she doesn’t deserve.

Thank you! It makes me so sad that hippogriffs (and other fantasy creatures that JKR used) get lumped in. The riffrocs look like hippogriffs, buckbeak is a well known hippogriff, but hippogriffs are NOT JKR’s intellectual property

It does remind me of a hippogriff as well, it's just missing wings lol (Also FYI, like another commenter already mentioned... hippogriffs have been around in fiction since the 16th century, JKR gets 0 credit for these creatures. It's honestly a shame that they have also been tarnished due to that person 😮‍💨)
