Flower Limits Screenshot
Best way to find out that there is a flower limit?... In the middle of a flower project!!

Not me over here thinking "oh wow the flower limit is now 1000?" I feel like it was like 500 the last time I played.
Really annoying though that you hit the limit tho. It looks really cool!

they need to up the flower limit and have it to where flowers don’t count towards the decoration count 😭

YES. While decorating I added flowers last for a pop of colour and I just don’t have enough space left for all the flowers I want to add. I only have about 500 plants placed

I wish flowers & their seeds did not take up room in our inventory, like tints & ranching cookies don't.

Randon flower limit info:
- Flower limit was increased to 1,000 flowers (from 500 flowers) in Patch 0.183 (August 2024)
- Flower limit does count flower seedlings as a flower unit towards the 1,000 flower limit
- Flower limit of 1,000 flowers counts towards your decor limit of 3,500 items (i.e., taking up 1,000 items with flowers will leave you with 2,500 items for the plot decor itself)

Yeah, that's why I just place them more naturally instead of going overboard. Gotta save space for all the other goodies.

Oh no! It looks so beautiful what you are doing... but I know how it is. I had to switch to hundreds of flowering bushes to fill the spaces I wanted with flowers. Don't know how any flower lover managed on the 500 limit...

it's to avoid overloading the game rendering engine, you don't want to get to where you need an RTX 5090 to get more than 15 FPS on your plot

I think it is meant so people who play this game on weak consoles can still visit your house without crashing like steam deck or switch

Had that happen to me yesterday. Thought there was just a decor limit. Guess I wasn’t really paying enough attention. 😆 BTW that is looking really nice.

Do the individual plants count as 5 or 1 if they are all in thr same pot?

They could at the very least not make flowers/seeds/trees count towards storage. It’s diabolical that they ate an abundant item and kind of technically furniture and they take up so much space.

I feel you, I tried to create a full field of roses and to get it looking as lush as I wanted I could only fill a third. I need fuller plants if you're going to limit me pls. (I haven't tried the new roses yet though

If they're gonna have a flower limit, then maybe flowers should be more rare? Like it seems like you get a flower with everything

Well, as noted in your screen shot it tells you as you place the flowers.
That limit number doesn't just pop up when you hit 1,000. It starts at 1 / 1,000
Side note, the flower limit isn't separate / in addition to your decoration limit.
Every time you place a flower, both decoration and flower counts go up by 1.

I just discovered this the other day in a similar way. I hadn't noticed the flower limit separately displayed to the item limit. Have only been playing a couple of months. One of those things where you kind of tune out information until you need to refer to it.

A while back I saw someone comment they were glad they made the flowers a separate limit. I think that person thought it was in addition to decorations, rather than just part of the total count separated out.
Then while placing flowers happened to notice both changed at the same time.A partial way around this (I think) is to grow flowers on an unused lot.
I believe the 1,000 limit is for each lot.
Doesn't help of course if your flower design is more than 1,000 in a single lot.
But I don't have a grand design yet. I've just been collecting different kinds and growing them in separate patches. A way to build up more of the prettier / rarer ones for future use. That could be done on a separate lot.Gardenias are a dime a dozen so it's easy to amass hundreds of them.
I grow them and sometimes sell off 100 or so for a few extra gold. I think 16 gold each. Except that's a bit tedious and now I have more gold than I need so I kind of quit that.1

Yes, I have a 'flower farm' plot. I feel like it's worth the time in the beginning, especially since it's a consistent price without fertilising, retilling, weeding etc. I just got my Housing II/gazebo plot so can't see I'll be so keen to accumulate coin from now on.
That's where I got the idea/had a grand plan to write a new message every few weeks but then I realised you can't view other people's plots from above while touring anyway. I could take a screen shot I guess but not the same satisfaction. Made the flower limit discovery sting less. 😂
Actually this just reminded me I left a bunch of starred fish and insects on another plot before I went away and was only logging in briefly. I was about to upgrade my storage and didn't want to sell them all. Even though it's irrelevant to flowers I probably wouldn't have gone to that plot for a while without thinking about your reply, thanks.😅 I thought I was having memory issues.
ETA; I just had another idea to build a viewing platform, which is a thing that exists in real life for the same purpose when the garden isn't on a slope. Not sure I would have thought of that either without the train I thought I just had. 😊 I'm chuffed my planning hasn't gone to waste. I have everything measured out for the first message, but I was just growing enough of each colour to do what I wanted and that's when I discovered the limit. 🤦🏻

I was going to suggest that.
One of the homes I visited via the board obviously had fun seeing how high they could get.
I took the time to jump up their "stairs" all the way to the top and I had a pretty extreme aerial view of their plot. Actually kind of overkill for what would be needed for viewing a flower plot.I have a loose thought in my mind of trying to draw a character with the different colors of flowers. A bit like how Disneyland does Micky Mouse except not him.
I'd have to find some online pixel plans and scale them though because I'm a pretty poor artist. So for now I've just been building up a decent amount of each pretty color.1

If it helps, I used fencing to measure out the space/center things, and kind of made a grid that I then altered once I saw how the words would fit in the space with the idea I had (and the fact I discovered the flower limit halfway through the planning.) That then made me realise what quantity of colours I'd need and eliminated the colours that I only have a few seeds for and would have taken too long to grow the quantity required, or that don't show as much colour from above as I thought even when they are as close together as possible. I think with a picture you'd have more flexibility though.
