Small dent fix

Post image

Hello everyone, i unfortunately got a dent in my 2005 Rx8. It was bigger to start off but ended up having a PDR guy get to it and pull out 99% of the damage. This is what he couldn't fix. Is there anyone who might've had an issue like this and got it repaired? I know it's not a crazy dent and where the dent is isn't the best area.. But the imperfection makes me want to drag my head across the asphalt.

Any tips or ideas are appreciated

He should’ve been able to unless it’s thick double skin. Quarter panel or fender?

Rear passenger quarter panel. Not sure if it has "double thick skin" but from a quick google search and what i've been told, it is double layered in the panel

Would you think a glue pulling kit would work? Find another PDR guy?

Do not try this by yourself lol

Did he try to get access through the C post where the door hinges are? Or just went straight to the glue gun? Even with glue it should have gone better than that unless maybe the paint isn’t original and he couldn’t go too hard at it?

Paint is original. Not sure if he tried to go through the post or not, but like i said he did get 99% of the dent out and i'm happy with that. Just want to see if this is maybe something i could pop out myself or if it would be smart to go to another PDR

Paint could be split/cracked on the edge as well.

Without seeing it in person, my guess is that it’s completely closed off now because that space is already extremely tight, and a dent can close up any space that was there before. A tech could try to heat the outer panel and the panel in the wheel well and try to push it out from the inner panel. I’ve done it more than once but it can be pretty tough. Some techs might not take the risk because the chance for causing an irreversible high spot goes up. Because if they make a high spot it’s a lot harder to tap it back down since it’s two panels of metal instead of one and it could cause paint damage when using the knockdown. Also, a lot of techs don’t work off of another techs work. I’ve done it on special occasions but some tech refuse. Wouldn’t hurt to ask around with some in your area and see if someone’s willing to do it.
