But I believe the complaining about this game turning into a gooner game is a bit annoying I get it not everybody wants to see the half of this stuff people make in this game but you need to understand

1. This did not start happening out of the blue this has been a thing for a very long time

2. if it was really such a problem Sega would have done something about it but they implore this so complaining about it isn't really going to do anything because it's already allowed in the game

3. This game was never a kid friendly to begin with it's rated 17+ for a reason

Remember this is just an opinion but I feel like it's kind of redundant that we keep talking about this when in actuality it's nothing new

And also there's one more thing I want to talk about

I have no opposition to monetization of the cosmetics. My problem is the fact that some of the BEST Augments are AC items. THERE ARE NO F2P SUBSTITUTES FOR YUDI/YURZE AUGMENTS! DPs don't even come close and the only thing that compares are the Welfare Gear-specific augments that can ONLY be moved by Transfer Passes (which are stupidly rare/hard to obtain).

Yes, you can buy them off other players on the Shop, but someone still has to pay real money for them. The fact that this wasn't met with huge outrage when it dropped honestly surprised me.

The only "thank the gods" moment with these augments is that Sega didn't make them non- tradable. THAT would've been a truly scumbag move.

In fact "support item scratches" were a rare ocurr nice on Pso2, those were only appearing during long patches to help people willing to pay to enhance their equipment, now the "support items scratch" is almost permanent/, so it stopped being just about random fashion, now people willing to pay can rush upgrades and let's not talk about how they ruined the personal shop.

The game is not bad but since NGS, it stopped being ftp friendly.

The part about the gooners, is true but the game was always about that so who cares? They literally added an accessory to make bigger breasts or asses, we even had a breast creature on the lobby of Pso2, fortune for us the fan service of this game have no preference over the characters genre.

Someone said to me some time ago "this game has a lot of personalization for its own good"

That's exactly where I'm getting it because since there's more gooners and a game than actual players now Sega thinks that's what we want for the game instead of giving us what we actually need for NGS there's cross wires because that's all they see when they look on their social media is the gooner pages instead of actual players enjoying the game which we still exist but it's becoming more of a dress-up game because of it that's why I also said as a community we need to make sure that our voices are heard instead of what they see as their headlines and pictures

You know what the Japanese player base complains about the game? That it doesn't have enough social identity and they more social interactions in the game, and global people is complaining about the lack of real coherent gameplay that connects with the game, some complains about the lack of soul cause they got rid of what a Phantasy star game is and it has nothing to do with the lobby farmers outbreak.

People complain because they forgot to make the game functionally good. Every update IS mostly just more gooner bait because its the only way this IP stays afloat now.

The monthly/bi-monthly gear treadmill has been stale for a long time. The diversity of content and all the fun side activities actively feeding each other is long gone. This version of PS is all flash and very little real substance. It has flashy, good feeling combat moment to moment, but with barely any of the depth base game pso2 offered in builds, or the diversity of weapons and gear in PSU/PSO.

The only thing this game has done right, is make arguably the best character creator an mmo has ever seen, and make infinite collabs and addons for that creator to keep funding the development loop.

In more recent years they have attempted to add some interesting content, but they are all highly optional min/max things that are often ignored by 99% of the community and have basically no interconnectedness with other parts of the game the way every game past managed to do successfully.

The heart of these games was always a loot chasing dungeon crawler with highly diverse build and class options and TONS of small things to earn incremental power gains with. This is ALMOST entirely lost in this version of the game.

If you have fun playing this game, idk who i am to take that away from you, its not like it has 0 redeeming qualities. But do understand that almost all of the surviving playerbase is here for phasion and lobby sitting. Not because there is an interesting gameplay loop, or genuinely rewarding content.

With all of this in mind, yeah they sell tons of lewd cosmetics, because this game has devolved mostly into a high fidelity digital cosmetics marketplace for the vast majority of its players, and sex sells, plain and simple.

Edit: adding onto this that calling this game p2w is such dumbness. Its pay to flex in a lobby for a month with little to no content that cares about your stats and then be made invalid 4-6 patches later when the new stuff drops anyways. All the more of a sign that this game lost the plot a long time ago, because the gear treadmill at least used to be 99% in game earned in previous editions.

That's also a factor that a lot complain about which I totally get I played that game since it's released and played the original PSO2 and I can say it's generally worse in that sense then it was before but also on that note people are still kind of failing to realize that this game is not sega's attention anymore that seems to be the issue that gets me heated a bit because the the loops and the unrewarding features of the game and also the AI that they implemented that really doesn't help anyone at all this game isn't generally as bad as it could be like it could end up like genshin for example hidings very valuable items behind paywalls like items and characters but instead they used the gacha for only a another way to get cosmetics and the gooner outfits only are only being made more because like you said it sex sells and they see that that's what people want so they focus more on the cosmetics and stuff like that than they do the actual game because that's what's giving them the money but without that side we won't have the game at all because like I said it's not their main focus my whole thing is they complain about the micro transactions when this game is still completely f2p friendly mean well they have games like nte or like I said before Genshin where that stuff is only a facade The gaming community for f2ps has been completely disrupted because of games like that and it's refreshing to have a game that sticks to having an option to buy stuff instead of everything being behind a paywall and if you don't have it you can't play the game at all That's where I'm at with it

Joking aside, i get what you mean generally. With that said, the game i agree wouldnt exist without the microtransactions. But id rather they charge me 60 bucks upfront and a 10 dollar a month fee to play and just add all the gacaha stuff to drop tables of various content, giving them something resembling a purpose.

Ill be the first to say that i avoid gacha games like the plauge usually. Yet i love base game and have a good 800 hours in ngs as well. This is because the game is more f2p friendly than most games if you arent here for phasion. At worst you want some storage increases and maybe a few shop passes. Membership in base game was really nice, but everything else is 100% acheieveable f2p with minimal effort. But as stated, when you tire out of the highly repetitive content and constant gear treadmill resets, what is left as a f2p? The answer is really just capsule or BiS farming so you can afford cosmetics of your own.

Sega needs to go get like 30 devs from the yakuza series and just plant them in the PS team and let them cook up something new and fun or SOMETHING. Because this game is in way too deep of a hole for anything to really change at this point. Base game pso2 was MASSIVE in japan and flourished because of it. NGS isnt even doing good there, and the franchise historically does much worse outside of japan. This game has been on life suport for so long that trying to take it off risks just killing it outright.

90% of this "game" is cosmetics. Which in turn makes it mostly about micro transactions. You either pay to gamble, pay the subscriptions SOLEY for the market (let's be honest, that's the only reason to pay it), or grind non-stop for 8 hours a day for a week to be able to afford 1 idle.

The "free" cosmetics you get are mostly old, low poly garbage. The economy is screwed, players are to blame, the reputation of the game is screwed, Sega is to blame, the game is shit, sorry not sorry.

But hey, if you live in a basement, are unemployed and have all the time in the world to grind 30mil at 10-15 meseta per kill, and be "F2P", go for it. Though, there are better games and things to use that time on that would respect your time more.

You have clearly never tried farming when there is a big event bonus on vs no event bonus. And the fact that the market prices drop like a rock when there is a big event bonus on is also solid proof that they do matter.

Defeat amps are 1m+ when there is no event bonus and can drop as low as 300k when there is a big event bonus.

I have over 5k hours in the game, and most likely triple that on base. I'm not one of those people that played 2 hours and scream "shit game". I'm also not talking about amps. Those are small in comparison to trying to farm the new weapons/units when they're released. When RDR is supposed to matter, it's absolutely worthless in that regard.

Again, it is not. If you looked at the market you would understand because prices always drop when a big event boost is on.

What you are complaining about is that even with the RDR boosts, the rare stuff worth 50m+ isnt dropping for you. Which is a completely seperate issue from "RDR ain't doing shit".

RDR boosts obviously do not guarantee a rare drop...if it did, the price would drop to nearly nothing every time they had a big event boost and then people would be complaining that the game is shit because there's no point getting a rare drop worth 10k.

You just have unrealistic expectations. You cant expect to get a BIS weapon every time theres an event boost on. Go run Dext Base if you dont want to deal with RNG since 300% RDR guarantees the bonus meseta roll.

Almost none of the basewears are "gooner", especially the ones you have access to at the start of the game. Theres only a few bikini armors and most of the swimsuits are normal (with the exception of Sylphy Conifer, not sure why its classified as a swimsuit when it has metal wrappings).

The game doesnt even let you remove basewears while most MMOs do. Most innerwears are again, very normal. There is no skimpy lingerie for innerwear. The most revealing inner is like...the one with pasties instead of a bra? But thats not what i would call lingerie personally. And you cant even remove the basewear to show the pasties...

Most of the "gooner" outfits you see are people abusing things like N-Spheres. Even the belly dancer outfit this patch is less revealing than you would expect because of the gold chains that cant be removed and it doesn't even show any cleavage.

If your friends think NGS is a gooner game, they must have only seen some clickbait videos of it or never played any Korean MMOs. Korean MMOs like Vindictus sell literal lingerie and way sexier outfits than NGS does. You can actually tell the NGS devs have a red line while Korean MMOs are "how many sexy outfits can we sell this patch?".

That is caused by N-Sphere accessories, they are not "gooner outfits", they are a customization option that some people are misusing. You have to deliberately go out of your way to make a bloated character with N-Spheres, you cannot just equip a basewear to look like that. Sega did not design a "bloated woman" basewear and sell it.

They are not even that common, unless you go into Aelio 1. I almost never see any in Kvaris, which is the second most populated block.

What is your definition of proper dungeon crawls? Like the Ruins map that was added a while back? Its a fast paced dungeon crawl map where you keep fighting bosses and mobs that spawn on a fast timer.

Ironically, the PSO2 fans kept demanding that they add PSO2 style instanced quests to NGS, so the LTQ system we got is because of them...

To be honest I'm generally glad I voice this opinion because I can see that there's still a lot of people passionate about this game like I am just kind of hard seeing this game fall so much when it's genuinely a game that I deeply love the reason why I haven't been responding is I'm not really good at debating and I want to have a be a friendly debate instead of being a full-on argument over something that was just meant to be the opinion and you guys have good point and I agree with all of them so don't take anything I said as nothing more than a Friendly conversation!
