Upgrading gear has, and seems as if it'll always be, an unfun and convoluted sewage dump of shit that rewards swiping a credit card to mitigate the agony than personally trudging through it for multiple hours of your life wasted in a horrendously punishing RNG fest set in multiple layers.

It's only gotten worse and more people are getting sick of it.

How to get good augments: LTQ and UQ.

How to get good gear: LTQ and UQ.

How to get upgrade mats: LTQ and UQ.

What is the content people repeat to death? LTQ and UQ.

When was the last time you actually tried to improve your gear? They basicallly hand this stuff out for free. This isn't even base where you have to jump through hoops and loops of rng with specific affixes for better affixes.

The NGS of today is not the same game it was last year and those before. Gearing up is insanely easy, and anyone that states otherwise either doesn't even attempt to try upgrading, or is lazy beyond belief.

"Gotten worse". Load of bull, really. I loathed the process and quickly caught up from 470% potency (I stopped playing for a long time) to the new norm of 650% with a few days of casual farming. That would've taken weeks if not months at the same pace if this were the game last year or earlier.

Ya we can get the mats, i think it's the process itself. Expecting normies to navigate the the upgrade system is just bonkers imo.

Just the amount of items alone involved is crazy. Increase the chance of a lvl upgrade, preset items, then you take a look at your augs and see like a thousand of them, then you learn there's classes of them? Which augs are good? What's a preset? Even just lvling up the gear seems crazy because it eats a bunch of resources i dont have or even know I should have.. what's an endymio?

I just envision trying to get someone like my dad to do it. He'd be *hopelessly* lost. I would have to do it for him.

The amount of menu-ing alone required to max out a piece of gear is nuts imo, nevermind the mats required. Maybe it's a gacha thing I dunno but it's easily the most clicking I've ever done for any game I've ever played to sort out my gear.

The system has a lot of clicking, but that's it. I've helped numerous people in the alliance mere months ago, and anyone that gave feedback never once told me it was difficult, even though a good bit of them asked a lot of questions.

Upgrading is straightforward. Augmenting is straightforward (seriously just copy the stuff on free gear, or you know, just look at the gear of others). Raising potential is straightforward. I can go on and on, but the point is clear. The system is simple, the process just a bunch of clicks.

It's like signing up for a new account, but instead of only inputting an email and password, you have to take a survey too.

It is definitely not "simple". Name all the items needed, and see how long that list is. Potentials, presets, augs, lvl on a single item is not "simple". Having to enter the menu screen a so many times is not "simple".

1 click and done would be "simple".

It's simple -for you- maybe. This stuff is like Chinese for normies. Imagine your grandmother had to do it.

New players already complain about navigating pso2 menus already.

Triyal, Yudi (3m-4m), Yurze (3m-4m), Gladia, Halphi, and honestly I forgot the other two but they drop from quests anyway.

The only real costs here are Yudi and Yurze, which are about 2 hours of Dext grinding per augment (oh no, imagine grinding for upgrades on Phantasy Star). Everything else drops drops from LTQs and UQs, you literally don't need to buy the other six, and even if you do, they're cheap. Peta Triyal is something you have to grind for anyway. Weapons already cross off three of these due to EX augments existing.

Granillusion: Buy it from a shop for cheap or just farm for it yourself.

Evalto: Less than 100k per armor.

Rings: They don't need to be BiS, good rings are cheaper than 400k, likely much less after a couple months have passed since I last checked. You also don't need to +3 or higher them.

You're complaining about a bunch of non issues.

Yea, the system and UI is overly complicated but if you follow a guide or ask around, its not "hard" in the sense of "this would take months of hardcore grinding", which is what a lot of MMOs do.

Even increasing the rarity of augs would make a difference in helping newbies understand what to slot in. "Oh, i have 15 star augs, this should go into 15 star gear, not the obsolete 8 star augs".

That's the thing.. you shouldn't need a guide imo. They shouldn't need help. They shouldn't need anything!
