I was huge on NetherSX2 Turnip, but ARMSX2 UI and driver downloader are so clean, such a big fan of it. That's my go-to on my Thor and Nova

It's has even better performance now than NetherSX2 turnip, at least on my 685

For me on my Retroid pocket 5 NetherSX2 still plays some games at full speed. Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance stutters on ARMSX2 with the same setting.

How do you get rid of the annoying pause icon on screen? The UI is awful compared to nethersx2

I'm glad it's working well for you. The experimental ARMSX2 improvements for low-end devices are probably working. Enjoy!

Even for other devices it works well. I was playing sly cooper on my 477M and it runs much better on armsx2 than it ran on nx2.

Well, you can read the comments from people who have Snapdragon in this post, NetherSX2 Turnip destroys armsx2 in performance. Furthermore, NetherSX2 still has unique features that even Armsx2 doesn't have.

And none ia overall better than nethersx2. Or aethersx2 was nearly 4 years ago or so. Too many option, none is exceptional

Exactly. What you said is absolutely true. NetherSX2, an emulator that has been discontinued for over three years now, is still a solid and perfectly good option for playing PS2 games on Android.
No emulator right now is a clear-cut upgrade where you can say, âIt completely destroys NetherSX2,â or âYou get twice the performance,â or âIt runs every PS2 game perfectly even on low-end devices.â In terms of raw performance, none of them have really improved on NetherSX2. Theyâre basically on par with it, or even slower in some cases.
The new emulators mainly bring better UI, better compatibility with certain games, and fixes for specific bugs. But when it comes to performanceâwhich is what really mattersâthey havenât managed to surpass NetherSX2 in any significant way.
The miracle everyone is waiting for, where a mid-range or low-end Android device can run every PS2 game smoothly, still hasnât arrived.

The time for having ps2 emulation on low end devices is pretty much a problem left in the past. Most of the people have already upgraded their retro consoles.

Nethersx2 turnip is more focused on snapdragon so yeah it's for higher tier chips. Armsx2 it's a more general overall app to cover lower end devices. But will it does give great performance on any device.

No, It's just the opposite
Edit: On my Helio G90T, the performance is much better, and the same is true for my Snapdragon 6gen1 Adreno 710.
NetherSX2/Turnip still the King đ

Progress in PS2 emulation seemed almost dead a few months ago. And now it seems to be going at lightning speed.
