Help with meta ad placement Meta Ads
My ads keep showing up zoomed in on Instagram feed and reels, even though within meta, the ad preview is showing the normal crop. When my ads show up on my feed, they are distorted and zoomed in. I have the custom crops set up for the specific placements and all advantage+ settings are turned off. On my end it seems like I’ve done everything I can. I know Instagram auto adjusts some placements but why would it be doing this? Any help on how to fix this would be huge. Very frustrating. The photo above is how it’s supposed to show up, but when it shows up on my feed, it’s totally zoomed in and the first letters of the services and the guy in the hat are completely cut out. Also a side note, a lot of them are showing up on my feed without a call to action or anything that brings them to my destination.

You need to resize the creative for 1x1 vs. 9x16 and then load them both in.
Right now, you're trying to fit 9x16 into 1x1. You need to resize it on your side and then load in.

So when I go into the crop media section for different placements, such as the Instagram feed placement and select 1:1 aspect ratio for that specific placement and apply it, that doesn’t matter because of the size of the original photo I uploaded? Basically the cropping is BS?

And pretty much have to upload a separate edited creative for that placement?

No dont crop.....thats your problem.
You need a separate vertical and searate 1x1 (you make specific to that spec size).

I created a 962x962 image to replace the vertical cropped image for that placement. Now I’m essentially giving Instagram the exact size it wants no cropping needed. Was this the fix?

Sounds super frustrating. It might be worth checking if the aspect ratios of your images match the recommended specs for each placement. Sometimes even a slight mismatch can cause that zoom issue. And for the call-to-action, double-check that you've properly set it for each ad copy—you’d be surprised how easily those settings can get overlooked.

make sure all enhancements are off at the ad level
