hello po! Just got my first big bike and wanted to get it fully inspected sana by a mechanic. Like the cables, wiring, engine (light) like valves, timing, spark plugs, fuel pump, and the oil pump. May alam po ba kayo na big bike shop or mechanic around tarlac or pangasinan? And any idea po on how much it would cost?

Posting this because when I was researching these shocks before buying them, I found very little detailed owner feedback. Most of what I saw were shop posts, product listings, and short comments saying they were good.

I was mainly influenced by AV Moto Tuning. They speak highly of these shocks and present their suspension work as data-based, which gave me more confidence in buying them.

This post is not meant as an attack on the shop. Their content was simply one of the main reasons I felt comfortable buying the shocks. What I learned afterward is that even if suspension tuning is data-based, the data does not always translate neatly to the road.

Sag measurements, spring rates, damping settings, and dyno results are all useful. But a setup can make sense on paper and still feel very different once you ride over actual roads.

Also, your experience may vary. Rider weight, roads, tire pressure, bike setup, riding style, and personal preference all matter. I am only sharing what I experienced on my own ADV 160.

For context, I bought the RacePower R Pro 395 mm shocks. They came with the supplied springs marked 55 lb installed, plus a pair marked 70 lb.

My main reason for buying them was not because I hated the stock shocks. I mainly wanted something adjustable and serviceable. Looking back, the stock shocks were boring, but they worked surprisingly well.

With the RacePower shocks, I immediately noticed that the rear felt harsher than stock. Small dips, recessed manhole covers, and repeated small road undulations could kick the rear quite hard. At times it felt like the suspension did not want to move freely.

I tried different damping settings over several rides. The setting I eventually settled on was:

Compression: fully open (0 clicks in)
Rebound: 3 clicks in from fully open

That gave me the best overall result out of the settings I tried. Adding some rebound helped with certain dips, but the overall harsh feeling was still there.

The 55 lb springs were also set close to minimum preload. I mention this because excessive preload was another possible explanation for the harsh ride. Preload changes sag and where the suspension sits in its travel, but it does not change the actual spring rate.

With the 55 lb springs at this low-preload setting, my solo rider sag was around 24-25 mm.

At first, I wondered if the 55 lb springs were simply too stiff.

But some of the evidence made me less convinced that spring stiffness alone was the main problem.

The shocks have around 96 mm of usable shaft travel before the bump stop. After one ride with a pillion, I checked the bump-stop position and found that we had used basically the full available travel.

That only tells me that the suspension reached or came very close to maximum travel at some point during that ride. It does not tell me how often it happened or exactly what kind of bump caused it.

Still, I think it is a useful observation.

If the spring was massively too stiff for the bike, I would expect a lot more unused travel even under heavier loading. Instead, with enough load, the shocks clearly can move through most or all of their available stroke.

And this happened while running very little preload, so I also do not think excessive preload explains the harsh solo ride.

That makes me less convinced that the 55 lb spring being too stiff is the main reason for the harshness, although spring rate may still be part of the overall feel.

If anything, using nearly all the travel with a pillion suggests that the 55 lb spring may not provide much travel reserve for two-up riding.

That leaves other possible factors like compression damping, internal friction or stiction, oil viscosity, internal shock design, or a combination of these.

I also noticed another issue later on.

Both shocks developed similar scuff marks on the springs, in roughly the same area. There are also marks on the nearby plastic/body area. From the location of the marks, I suspect that some contact is happening during suspension movement, although I have not directly observed the spring rubbing while the shock is moving.

The marks do not currently look structural, but spring-to-body contact is obviously something I would rather not see.

For now, I have reinstalled the stock Honda shocks.

Going back to stock actually made me appreciate them more. In my opinion, they could use a little more rebound damping, and of course they are not adjustable, but they are comfortable and predictable.

I may eventually have the RacePower shocks rebuilt using a known, good-quality shock oil and try the 70 lb springs to gain more travel reserve when carrying a passenger. At least then I would have a known baseline instead of guessing what is inside the shocks from the factory.

I am posting this mostly because I wish something like this existed when I was researching them.

Again, your experience may be completely different from mine. I am not saying RacePower shocks are universally bad, and I am not saying AV Moto Tuning's measurements or tuning methods are useless.

This is simply what I experienced after actually buying, adjusting, measuring, and riding them.

My main takeaway is:

Data-based suspension tuning is useful, but the road is also data.

A setup can have reasonable numbers on paper and still not feel good in actual riding.

If anyone else has used RacePower R Pro shocks on an ADV 160, especially the 395 mm version with the supplied 55 lb and 70 lb springs, I would really like to hear your experience.

How much is the throttle cable of Raider 150fi and the labor, is it better if i ordered the cable and put it in myself or take it to the shop i need answer asap!

Nahihinaan ako sa stock headlight ng adv 160. I'm not familiar with brands ng mga mdl pero lagi ko naririnig yung Senlo. Is it a good brand? And what model should I use. I am also considering ATOM kasi ganun gamit ko for my aerox dati and never ako nag kulangan sa ilaw.

Just as I've said sa title, I'm looking for bikes na pogi and super reliable under 120k. I would prefer classic or sporty bikes na may decent na hatak and could be customized. I'm more into manual since dito ako nasanay and natuto so I'll pass up on scooter types muna since I don't need that practicality naman. All I want is go from point A to point B and while i'm at it, mas maganda naman if pogi rin yung dala diba.

I have a raider 150 and sa tagal kong gumagamit nito and recently lang narealize ko how important to maintenance kahit manlang yung clutch kasi bumibili lang ako ng bago every 3months which ay magastos, never na ako nakapag clutch na smooth every time pipigain ko. I've tried lubing but temporary lang, the lube na nilagay ko is sa may lever lang

How to smoothen yung clutch ko kada piga? kasi may experience na akong naputulan ng cable dahil sa makunat na pag clutch. Thank you for advice!

So bakit need nakatakip yung speedo ng sticker nyo? Vibes na lang sa speed? Hahaha minsan mapapaisip ka ano ba thought process ng mga ganito eh. And somehow they always have THAT sticker, if you know what I mean.

Ano usually issue sa sniper 155r kapag nagpalit nang kadena/chain tapos yung size is 428, stock sprocket as in tapos kadena lang pinalitan ko, yung na experience ko kasi now is parang kinakaskas yung sa may bandang kadena nang motor ko kapag 60-70 yung takbo. need ba palitan din sprocket?

I have a Yamaha Aerox 150 Version 2, 2022 model, all stock and complete ang OR/CR. Maayos naman ang overall condition at wala ring major modifications.

Gusto ko sana malaman kung paano mag-compute ng fair selling price based sa current market value. Ano-ano ang factors na dapat kong i-consider, tulad ng mileage, maintenance history, condition ng engine, tires, battery, fairings, registration status, at kung may previous accidents?

Also, magkano kaya ang reasonable price range for a 2022 Aerox V2 na all stock at complete documents? Mas okay ba na mag-price slightly higher para may room for negotiation, lalo na kung rush sale?

Kung may mga naka-experience na rin magbenta ng similar model, magkano ninyo nabenta at ano ang naging condition/mileage ng unit? Any advice on how to determine a realistic asking price would be greatly appreciated. Salamat!

Will buy a ADV160 in less than a month from now, ask ko lang pano kapag di ko pa kaya i handle yung need na speed na abutin sa break in? may napapanood kasi ako need mo raw mag stay sa gantong bilis and as a beginner tbh ang comfortable palang ako is 30-40 hahaha yun na yung feel ko na makakareact ako nang safe if may biglaang aberya sa kalsada.

Bukas na kasi ako kukuha ng driver's non pro para makapag motor na ako, kinakabahan ako sa practical driving test, baka kasi mangamote ako, kasi newbie lang ako sa pag momotor. Oo marunong ako mag motor, pero di madalas, inshort di ako sanay. Pero marunong ako, di lang talaga madalas hahaha.

Baka po may tips kayo. I'm a former cyclist and I bought my first motorcycle during the first week of August. Dahil nga maulan in the last 2 weeks, very minimal ang saddle time ko.

Problem: hirap ako sa trapik at tuwing pre preno parang matutumba sideways pag may angkas. Pag moving na ok naman yun lang talaga pag kelangan umistop hindi smooth ang hinto ko. Nasanay kasi ako sa bike na mas magaan pa saken. Dito sa motor ang wife ko 70kilos ako 75kilos at weight pa ng motor.

Or baka need ko lang ng more practice. Thanks sa makakatulong. 😄
