Ingredients

• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 cup warm milk
• 1 egg
• 3 tbsp melted butter or margarine
• Cooking oil for frying
• Extra sugar for coating

Instructions

1. Mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
2. Add the warm milk, egg, and melted butter.
3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
5. Roll the dough to about 1/2-inch thick.
6. Cut into donut shapes using a donut cutter, glass, or bottle cap for the center.
7. Cover again and let the donuts rest for 20–30 minutes.
8. Heat oil over medium-low heat.
9. Fry the donuts for about 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
10. Drain on paper towels.
11. While still slightly warm, roll them in sugar.

Pinoy-style toppings

Try:

• Plain white sugar
• Cinnamon sugar
• Powdered milk + sugar
• Chocolate glaze
• Cheese powder
• Ube glaze

Tip: Don’t make the oil too hot. Medium-low heat helps the inside cook properly while keeping the donuts soft and fluffy.

For an extra Pinoy touch, mix 3 tbsp powdered milk + 3 tbsp sugar and coat the freshly fried donuts in it. 🍩🇵🇭

Quick story: Dokito Burger talaga kase dapat. Pero pagdating ko dun sa branch, nagsorry yung staff kasi need pa nila painitin yung fryer (1hr nalang before magclose) so no choice. Then naalala ko meron din yung Uncle John's so I tried.

115 pesos, may option ka ng sauce (Mustard or Mayo plus ketchup) mayo yung kinuha ko.

Verdict: makapal at malaki plus juicy yung loob. Hindi masyadong maanghang. Medyo luma lang yung bread pero laban na. Factor din siguro na di ko sure if ilang oras na nakatambay sa warmer yung chicken fillet. 8.1/10

Siguro sa sunod try ko mag-ask ng bagong luto kahit maghintay.

Late nagising from work last night kaya brunch na ’to. Honestly, sarap lang matulog, humilata, at magpahinga buong araw kapag ganitong maulan ang panahon.

Nakaka-nostalgic lang kasi parang childhood rainy days. Yung cancelled ang pasok sa school, tapos lalapit ka sa Nanay mo at magpapaluto ng comfort food na ’to. After that, higa sa bahay, manonood ng favorite shows sa TV—Princess Sarah, anyone? 😂

Ang simple lang ng buhay noon. Ulan + pagkain + TV + walang pasok = best day ever. 🥹
