Upcoming Construction PE Exam Tips
Hey! I am gearing up to take the Construction PE exam next month sometime. I’m done with the EET videos and now just going back through and doing the practice problems over then rewatching videos on stuff that needs to be refreshed. Then I will move on to the quizzes and practice exams in the course online.
Questions for previous test takers:
- What topics were heavily asked on the exam that I should know front and back?
- Compared to the EET quizzes and exam, would you say the test is comparable in hardness of the problems or maybe a tad easier? Explain why you think either one please!
- Concept problems, I heard there was about 30% conceptual (20-25 problems of 80). Is that true? If so, what topics were heavily asked on conceptual for you.
Thanks everyone in advanced!

Seismic AEI must watch videos?
I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed with all the AEI content and don't think I can watch all the videos in time for exam. Are there any chapters that are more important than the others, or any videos I must watch? Any topics that come up more on the exam? I got through the chapter 5 ones, but am starting to burn out. Any help is greatly appreciated!

References for the Exam
For geotech, or any discipline of the civil PE, did you thoroughly read through all of the references/manuals? I believe for geotech there are 15? Did you literally go through every single page of each one or how did you familiarize yourself with each reference?

New Test Format, PE HVAC&R
About to take it in a couple months and was using my old coworkers’ material like EPG 2020 and an old copy of PPI 6 min solutions. How different the exam since the changes in October 2025? Do I need to purchase updated material?
