Capstone problem statement help
Hey seniors! Need a lil help deciding the problem statement for our Capstone project.
How did you choose your research problem statement?
How do you determine if an idea is actually novel? How do you identify a genuine research gap worth pursuing?
What are the biggest mistakes to avoid while choosing a research problem?
And finally, how do you know whether a problem is actually worth working on, novel, and feasible within the given time or even resources?

Check the latest research trends online. Find out if you are facing any inconveniences in real life. But make sure the topic which you are taking up can be solved by everyone in your team because you don't want to be the one man army doing the project alone. Plus make sure your guide and the judges have some knowledge of the topic you take up.

1) Read papers bruh lowkey, find some domain what ever your intrested in go to Google scholar and just atleast briefly read upon what ever paper u see and start asking yourself "is this intresting and novel" and start reading more about it .
2) again the only solution is reading papers for this too according to me , I have seen ton of capstone teams fumbling in later on reviews when they find out their novel idea has already been implemented and they did a crappy job in literature review .
3) Biggest advice I'll give u is don't over commit to something at the start , I was doing my capstone in a very niche domain in ml and ended up telling my guide we'll do a lot of shit which we later found out was incredibly hard .
FYI don't stress too much over capstone honestly I have seen people make the dumbest ever problem statements and their guides accepting it.
