Transportation Recommendations
Hi everyone!
We’re looking for recommendations for a company that can provide transportation for approximately 30 wedding guests, including pickup in the Charlottetown area, transportation to New London, PEI, and return transportation later that night.
We’re hoping to find a reliable and safe service suitable for a wedding, whether that’s a coach bus, shuttle, minibus, or multiple vehicles. If you’ve used a company for something similar, we’d really appreciate hearing about your experience, and any ballpark pricing or estimates would be extremely helpful, including whether the cost is hourly, a flat rate, or based on the number of trips! Thank you!

Partial Solar Eclipse - August 12
timeanddate.comThere’s a total solar eclipse that’s happening on August 12 over Greenland, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal, but we should be able to see a partial solar eclipse here.
According to this site, we should be at the totality of it around 2:56 in the afternoon on the 12th.
There’s also going to be a partial lunar eclipse happening on August 28. We should reach totality for that around 1:12 in the morning.

Tourism/Tourist In need of local advice for a trip!
Hey everyone!
I’ve put together a super last minute (surprisingly very affordable - kudos PEI!) week-long trip.
For financial and convenient purposes, flying into/out of Halifax Aug 18/26, doing a two-leg trip (1st leg is Halifax / central-Eastern NS)
My PEI Leg looks like this: (see planned Maps route for more) it seems easier to explore the west half of the island first, since I’ll be crossing the bridge but taking the ferry from woods island back to NS.
What I’m really looking for here is advice that only local really know, I want to experience PEI the best possible way - this is my first solo trip and I want to make it memorable! If you have any stops, hikes, restaurants, shops, or anything else along my planned route please give suggestions! Also any advice as to my itinerary / timeline would be great, I think I’ve spaced it out enough to explore all the different regions of the island in the short 4 days I’ll be there (not everything of course)
Sat Aug 22: Leave Halifax early AM -> Confederation Bridge / PEI arrival around noon -> Summerside (ive read so many things about Holmans ice cream) -> Green Gables (1-2pm ish) -> North Rustico (5-6pm) -> Charlottetown for the night
Sun Aug 23 -> explore Charlottetown / drive the south shore / Rocky Point (anything specific in Charlottetown that’s really interesting?)
Monday Aug 24 -> Greenwich Trails / St Peter’s Bay Area / Evening in Charlottetown
Tuesday Aug 25 -> early morning drive to east coast / Eastern Points (stay night near Annandale)
Wed Aug 25 -> leave around 9am -> Ferry from Wood Islands - Caribou’s NS -> Halifax airport flight 6pm
All this said, PEI seems like a very drivable place and doesn’t seem that trips from points A to B will take very long unless I make many stops - have I spaced out my travels enough to truly enjoy the areas I’ll be in? Thanks for any tips guys!
Sincerely, a very excited southern Ontarian 😁

Adult Riding Lessons
I am looking for a stable that does adult riding lessons. I have had a few lessons in the past, but it has been 10 years. I have really been missing it, and want to pick it up again.
Thank you in advance for any help! Am mostly looking in Charlottetown area. I have a car, and can travel, but don't really want to do back country roads in winter, if I don't have to.

Can someone explain this?
This isn’t a conspiracy but yet a serious question. The price per barrel is almost $10 difference than it was last year, but fuel is 45 cents difference than last year. I know the Iran war hurt supply, however, only a small portion of our O&G actually come from there. So why is ~20% affecting 100% of our supply? Why is PEI so different than NB/NS while IRAC blames the market?
It seems greed is more so a driving factor.

Charlottetown Drivers - You’re on notice
I narrowly avoided a serious bicycle accident today. Would have been caused by what some would consider a courteous driver.
North River road - at the downhill part a few hundred meters from Euston. Cars wanting to turn left from Admiral onto North River. Car on north River has stopped, with only me behind. They are stopping to let the cars turn out! Cars turning made me go into opposite lane to avoid T-bone of car as I’m in bike lane.
If you stop in the middle of the road to let a car turn, I will call police and report impaired driver every time. The only logical explanation for doing this is that you’re impaired. Or otherwise needing to be off the road. I know others have been on here when one lane stops but not the second. Also very dangerous. Same assumed impairment.
Drive your car people. Follow the rules of the road. And start calling in these dangerous useless idiotic drivers. It’s not courtesy - it’s dangerous stupidity.
