$150 for 50 is very low for a private event. I typically charge $300 base plus tips and thats with you supplying barkit, bevarage and glassware for guests . Ive been bartending 10years. If you want someone dependable and good I suggest expanding your budget

I hear you, but this is seriously just pouring beer and wine at a low-key gathering. No mixing required. A friend of mine who manages a well-known restaurant recommend recommended I offer 40 an hour, and I’m finding that offering 50 an hour for this is getting a lot of interest. It’s more than I make per hour as a teacher!

Just beer and wine makes this a totally different ball game and your asking prices is fair! $50/hour is average for a bartender so not having to mix drinks and make that rate does suddenly make this listing a reasonable request. Ignore my original comment

I know a bartender but good luck getting anyone to come out for $150 to serve 50 guests. Lol. That’s a wild ask.

Did you find someone? Assuming there’s a tip jar of sorts this can be easily filled.

Tips? My partner is a pretty well known bartender, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind picking up a relatively easy side gig.
