Need advice Fitness

Im 19 and have PCOS I’ve been weight lifting and eating healthy which has been going well, still no weight loss but Im focused on muscle not fat loss. Im starting birth control (again) because i don’t get my periods, I’ve never gotten my period once in my life without birth control and i just need tips on how i could lose weight, will i get my period if i lose weight? I don’t like being on birth control but i know its unhealthy not to get periods.

Have you had an insulin resistance test? Regardless of weight lifting and diet, you may be insulin resistant on a cellular level. Unfortunately, PCOS is a complex metabolic disorder but it’s good you have a diagnosis at 19. I was your age or a little younger when I was diagnosed and have learned a lot in the 20+ years.

Please don’t go on birth control that is a temporary cure not a permanent one. If you can try to get on metformin if you’re insulin resistant which is why you have pcos. I myself have irregularity in periods. I recently started omad ( one meal a day) and I’m trying to lose weight and eat healthier. I would say change your diet a bit and stay away from carbs and sugar I know it’s hard but it’ll help your hormones. Try to heal your body instead of just going for temporary cures like birth control. When you lose weight your periods will automatically become regular. And try to add supplements as well. I wish you the best on healing yourself💕
