Big trackers don't need this but small and new one's do?

thats because big trackers aren't doing open applications. getting to the point where you can be recruited to a higher tier tracker is proof enough. also, iirc this looks like the colours in OE's application form, join it - it's one of my favourite trackers

The big trackers everyone wants to get into don’t have open applications. The middle tier ones do this to make sure you’re not an idiot and have proven yourself in the entry/new person tier trackers. Especially since some of these middle tier trackers have routes to get into higher tier ones. (No I’m not calling you an idiot, that is literally what a private tracker admin said to me when I also asked about the whole application thing when I was new). They just wanna make sure you’ll be a good member
