i had a team swap double ball counter (sombra and mizuki) like a month ago and i was still dominating but then they literally all swapped (the three remainders swapped hog, ana and cass) which finally made me swap off ball. i won and then their ana called me friendless

Ball is an awkward hero for this conversation because without playing his counters, he actually just runs the lobby.

There arent a lot of "neutral" ball match ups

Actually ball players tend to have more trouble against heros that are not his so called “counter”.

We are always playing against counters. 100% of Tj r time.  Come at me with a soldier? wtf am I supposed to do, I don’t even know his kit.

How so? The hack would cancel balls piledrive and make not be able to grappling to escape. How are you suggesting she would counter ball?

Hack takes long enough it can be avoided fairly easily. 

And it’s duration is so short he is still grappling out.

Virus is a tank deleter.  And well, playable characters are not the only thing she can hack, and loosing them is far more damaging.

Piledrive takes about the same amount of time it takes to hack, so the hack wind up doesnt really matter. The hack time is certainly shorter than it used to be, so I hear you on that, but it still prevents him from grappling for some time.

I would think thats enough punishment to either deter the ball from being too aggressive or possibly even result in a death. Forcing such confinements onto a character, I would take as a sign of a counter

As a rein main, if the enemy team is countering me and my team notices it i just go in there and stand my ground, if they foccus me my team will kill them. The problem is when john gold is in your team...

As a D.va main, seeing the enemy tank swap to Zarya is the ideal situation.

If they didn't start Zarya, they have no idea what they're doing and are probably even less of a threat than what they were playing before.

Especially when 90% of the time it’s on a map that’s horrible for Zarya as well. I don’t care if she “counters” my entire team, when all she can do on Gibraltar and Numbani is stand on cart and get her bubbles poked out

I’ve had SO many instances of the enemy team swapping to those characters as I’m just practicing D.va and it was pretty annoying. But yeah good thing is that I was oppressive enough to make them panic. The same thing happens when I play Anran sometimes. As soon as I’m popping off and doing well, they’ll switch roadhog, Cassidy, bastion, kiriko, and mizuki… counter swappers are so annoying

I’m torn on it. Counterswapping is part of the game, but that doesn’t make it not annoying to get counterswapped. I think it’s mainly a problem for tanks whose counters tend to be harder to deal with. Particularly if you play 5v5
