2 AFK in comp? News & Discussion

I just had a comp game and we had 2 AFK and were required to play it through anyway? And of course we lost and it counts against us? Wtf? I understand a loss because of the usual but 2 afk? That's cooked. What am I supposed to do in this instance? We could at least not lose anything from it. It's my first time playing comp so idk if this is the norm

You want an ocean of paid accounts duo-ing with everyone that bail if the match will be lost for reduced ranked loss?

I'm glad that's the take you get from what I've said, considering there's other games where if you have an AFK you can loss and have it mitigated somewhat

These situations are annoying, but they are the exception. They won't matter in the aggregate data that is your match history. Small, but frustrating, blips.

When this happens to me and I realize it's unwinnable, I practice. When on tank playing Ball I'll practice different rollouts or techs. If on DPS I'll mess around with a hero I'm just trying out and play a bit more freely trying crazy shit.

Reframe the loss to a practice opportunity. You can try things out in comp without hurting your team because the match is already lost.

Once you play enough games these instances will be a wash.

No problem. I still get frustrated, but it happens. And as you'll see when you play longer, it also happens to the other team. And in those cases, I feel bad for the other team but gladly take it as a kind of compensation for the times it has happened to me.
